Lucy and Clay were stunned into silence, their minds reeling with the implications. Was it a coincidence, or something far more sinister? The weight of the situation pressed down on them, making it hard to think straight. The name "Sophie" hung in the air, almost mocking them, as they tried to piece together what had just happened.

The phone line between them buzzed with static, but neither spoke. Their usually sharp instincts were dulled, replaced by a creeping sense of dread. In that moment, everything seemed to blur, the lines between accident and murder twisting in ways they couldn't yet comprehend. All they knew was that something was very, very wrong.

Clay began to piece together the twisted puzzle, summarizing the series of events in an attempt to make sense of the chaos. "So, Daniel gets this message," he started, his voice low and steady, "asking if Sophie is okay. He panics, thinking something's going to happen to her, and takes off running to save her. But he never makes it—he dies on the way, hit by a truck."

He paused, the weight of the situation sinking in. "And then Sophie... she ends up taking her own life. But why? What pushed her to that point? Was it guilt? Fear? Or something else entirely?"

Clay's mind raced as he tried to connect the dots. "Daniel died trying to protect her, but Sophie... she wasn't saved. Did she know what happened to him? Did someone make sure she found out, driving her to do this? It's like someone's playing with them, with us, pushing all the right buttons to make them break."

The more he thought about it, the less it felt like a coincidence. "This isn't just random," Clay concluded, his tone darkening. "Someone's pulling the strings, and we're just starting to see the full picture. But what's the endgame? And why target these kids?"

Lucy couldn't help but let out a sarcastic remark, her voice cutting through the tension. "Oh wow, Mr. Lincoln Clay finally decided to be serious," she quipped, trying to lighten the mood despite the gravity of the situation. Clay replied "Well, it took a few bodies, but here we are," he responded, the hint of a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.

But the seriousness of their predicament quickly returned to the forefront of their minds. They both knew that they had to figure out what was going on before more lives were lost.

Lucy turned her attention to Alison, her voice steady but urgent. "How long ago did this happen?" she asked, trying to piece together the timeline.

At the same time, Clay, across the scene, asked a crewmate the same question. Both of them were racing against the clock, knowing that every second mattered.

Alison hesitated, her eyes wide with fear and confusion. "It must have been just a 10 minutes before you arrived," she said, her voice trembling.

The crewmate Clay was questioning gave a similar answer. "We got the call about ten minutes ago, but it looks like it happened just before that."

The simultaneous responses sent a chill down their spines. Whatever was happening was moving fast, and they were barely keeping up.

Clay paused, his brow furrowing as he pieced together the evidence in his mind. "Based on my investigation and the search of the room," he began slowly, "I think Sophie was already dead before Daniel got that message."

The weight of his words hung in the air, heavy with implications. Lucy's eyes widened as she processed the information. "But if that's true," she murmured, "then someone knew she was dead and sent that message to Daniel to push him over the edge."

The realization hit them both hard. This wasn't just a series of tragic coincidences. Before Lucy could fully process Clay's theory, Daniel's phone buzzed in her hand. Startled, she looked down at the screen. The message was chillingly direct: "I hope you reached your destination. Does it remind you of something familiar?"
