"Gleeful, how was your date?"

1 1/2 days later

More people had been coming to look at the broken septic system and look for the missing workers. Each one ripped apart and eaten the same as the first guy. The manhole cover had some light come through the edges. The only thing that allowed Trip to see. The flashlight the man had was destroyed while he was being eaten.

The beast hadn't talked much since Trip was first brought down, every time it looked at him it licked its non physical lips. But would turn away stomping its feet. Every guy that came down did rekindle the monsters twisted smile.

It played with its victims, tossed, scared, gave a false sense of security. But then it always struck. Leaving not a single ounce of remains anywhere in the tunnel. Every ounce of every person was consumed.

"What do you-you w-want?!" Trip asked, petrified.

"You know why I am here, Gleeful." It hissed back.

"Stop calling me that! And no I don't!"

"Your deal, your benefits from it came at a cost."

"What? My flesh?! You're not the one I made a deal with!" Trip shouted.

"But I am the one who will guide you to your destiny!" It shrieked.

"What destiny, a flesh sandwich?!"

"If I could eat, I would've already Gleeful."

"Sure, sure, THEN TELL ME WHY I AM HERE!" He screamed.

"I'll bring you to Gravity Falls, where you will follow your side of the deal," it hissed.

"What of Mabel?"

"Whatever you asked of her in the deal, will happen to her."

"Where is she now?"

"That was not part of MY deal."

"What did you bargain for then?"

"Food, I've been going hungry for decades after people began to light up their streets," It said, in a way you could almost feel sympathy, "Ha but if you think I won't eat you when your part of the deal is done, your wrong."

It grabbed Trip and began to move through the labyrinth of tunnels that make up the sewers. Passing twists and turns. They made it to a wall which the monster smashed into pebbles. Their speed picked up and they were flying through the leaky small tunnels at an insane pace.

"Woah slow down!" Trip screamed.

"No," it hissed back.

"Ok, but if I'm gonna die to you, can't I at least know what and who you are?"

"I am, Abaddon the Devourer, the last shadow-crawler."
