"She should be back by now!" Dipper said to himself.

Mabel had left a while ago, and Dipper thought should've came back already. He paced around their room, fidgeting the whole time. He knew Mabel could handle herself and didn't want him to go with her on her date, but he couldn't help it.

Mabel was the type of person to get distracted though. Dipper had no clue what to do. Respect Mabel's wishes or go looking for her. But then he remembered something. Something important. He's Mabel's brother, he's not supposed to respect her wishes. And with that thought Dipper ran out of the house to begin his search for Mabel.

Walking through the streets he heard noises, strange noises. Like something was eating. But not normal eating, devouring, ripping to shreds, then consuming. Like it didn't have teeth to crunch up its prey, so it had to rip it apart outside of the mouth. Dipper shivered at the thought of that. But he refocused on his mission to find Mabel, and Trip, maybe.

The raccoons were in the trash of a nearby house as the crickets chipped louder than ever before. A flicking light illuminated the area. Dipper hopped on the side walk, then transitioned to the crosswalk leading to the Trashbin Diner.

"They got this things name spot on! They got like 7 dumpsters!" Dipper commented.

He walked to the Diner, which was closed. It was 11:33 of course it was closed. But this was the only spot Mabel said she was going. She had to be around here. Or she made it back the second he left. He laughed at the thought he left for nothing.

He continued to search the surrounding area for clues on where she might be. He found a pile of ashes. But some of it wasn't burned.

He picked it up it looked like a piece of paper, not a book cover. He looked more in the pile of ashes.   It clearly used to be a book, some small pieces of the pages remained. He looked closer at the price of paper. There was tape. Whoever owned this book taped on a fake cover.

"Is this guy in a cult? I mean it's clearly Trip's," Dipper said to himself, "Better keep looking."

But then Dipper felt a strange sensation. It was like everything was going to be ok. He felt calm all the sudden. He lost all sense of worry.

"She's fine. She has to be," Dipper said.

He walked back to his house, calmer than he's ever been in his life. And then he forgot why he was out there in the first place.

The pile of ashes at the diner became a sudden ball of red energy. The pieces of paper and ashes merged together. An energy suddenly bursts out of ball, sending shockwaves throughout Piedmont. The ball of energy diminished leaving only a book.
