3 Years later
Shortly after Christopher found out that his father was dating Buck, Buck moved into the Diaz household and became a permanent member of their family.
Not only did Buck find the place he was always meant to be, but he also found the only couch that will ever work for him, as weird as that might seem.
Buck and Eddie both continued to work at the 118 and have grown even closer to their fellow members.
Now, three years after their first kiss, Eddie proposes to Buck in the same place they met. The 118 firehouse.
Eddie invited every single one of both his and Buck's loved ones to experience the proposal with him because he just knew what Buck's answer would be.
And he was right. Buck says yes to Eddie after he got down on one knee and gave the speech of a lifetime. Once Eddie slides the ring onto his finger, hugs him, and kisses him, everyone comes out to surprise him.
Buck is overwhelmed with joy as he sees everyone he cares about come together for him. Just a few years ago Buck was struggling to find his place in the world but now? He has so much more than that. He has so much more than he could have ever asked for and he still isn't quite sure what he did to deserve it.
They all celebrate the couple with a dinner inside the firehouse and discuss where Buck and Eddie should have their wedding ceremony.
However, the night is not over. After everyone has left, Eddie drives Buck and Christopher home to make a different type of proposal.
Eddie has Buck wait in the living room while he goes with Chris to his room to double check everything.
Eventually, Christopher comes out and presents adoption papers to Buck and says "Even though I am turning 18 in a couple of years, I would still love to officially call you my Dad."
Buck tears up and immediately moves to hug Chris and thank him while Eddie watches and cries along with them. After letting the two have their moment for a few minutes, Eddie walks over to join them and he has never felt this complete before in his life.
Christopher had recently just started to call Buck "Dad" and every single time he did it, both Buck and Eddie had to fight the urge to cry. Buck wasn't just a stepdad to Chris, he was the dad who stepped up. Buck would always put Chris before himself and both Eddie and Chris knew that.
Nine months later, they will find themselves at the altar getting ready to say "I do" to each other.
Neither Buck nor Eddie have ever been this ready to say two words in their lives.
They chose to write their own vows and they both go beyond the intended time for them. Both Buck and Eddie could speak about the other for hours without running out of things to say.
Once those two important words are uttered and the two grooms share a passionate kiss, everyone in the audience cheers.
Buck and Eddie have found their forever and they will never let each other go.
