"Hi sweethearts." Lottie said as Ash and Cardi picked her up in the van outside the pub, "Hello Nigel." Lottie cooed once she saw the pigeon cuddled up with Cardi.

"So, what's the plan? Where are we gonna lift it from?" Cardi asked Ash as he started driving them out into the countryside.

"There's a school up in Rybrook. It's a posh place. Just up the hill, there's a stable with not one, but two Shetland ponies." Ash informed them as Lottie continued to stroke the pigeons head.

"OK, but how are we gonna get it to go with us?" Cardi said still looking confused.

"Well, we'll need to find a rein." Ash said as he started thinking of a plan.

"Have you ever tried to get a horse to do something against its will?" Cardi asked his friend incredulously.

"No, but I bet you have." Ash said as he eyed the bag he brought with him.

"You're gonna call me a genius." Cardi said as he picked the carrier bag up.

"Bet you I don't." Ash said as Lottie just watched it all unfold.

"Chloroform." Cardi said as he pulled a brown bottle out of the bag.

"Chlo... Chloroform?" Ash and Lottie both said in disbelief.

"I bought it down the pub a few weeks back. It was really cheap." Cardi said feeling quite happy with himself.

"I've told you not to go near that man Cardi" Lottie scolded him like an angry mother.

"You get this on a rag, over its hooter, down it goes." Cardi said with a massive smile as he chose to ignore Lottie's disapproving look.

"That's genius. Put the chloroform away." Ash said sarcastically as they drove to their destination.

"Where's the car, Vinnie?" A policeman questioned as he drove at a slow pace next to him.

"What car's that, Slater?" Vinnie asked back innocently.

"The one you nicked this morning." Slater said to him.

"You've got the wrong man. I'm surprised you're out so early. I thought you'd be balls deep in a dog somewhere by now." Vinnie said laughing to himself at the rumour he spread.

"Small-time now, Vin. But small-time leads to medium-time, and medium time, inevitably, gets drawn into the big-time." Slater started saying as Vinnie sighed, "And once you get involved with them fuckers, you're gonna wish you got a job down at the fish counter at Morrisons." Slater continued to say hoping Vinnie would confess.

"I applied for that job. They were looking for someone with muscles." Vinnie said with a smile at his own joke.

"Don't want to get your girlfriend sent down though, do ya Vinnie?" Slater said to him which made Vinnie's face grow serious that he mentioned his sweet Charlotte.

"Fuck off, Slater." Vinnie said as they finally drove off.

"What have you done this time?" A girl said to him as she rode her bike down the hill past him.

"That's Erin. Dylan's girlfriend. Used to be a wild child. Shagging around, landed with a kid, Tyler. Since then, she's really pulled herself together. These days, she's a woman with a plan.'
