Why does my head look so big?

You muttered, tilting your head to the side. The mirror reflected back a version of you that felt strangely unfamiliar—your hair now neatly pulled back, and the bright red ribbon standing out, making you feel a bit like a present wrapped up for a special occasion. Your mother had insisted you look "presentable" today, and in her language, that meant you had to endure this temporary transformation.

"Midoriya's coming over today," she had said, her voice laced with that determined excitement only mothers seem to have. She'd spent the entire morning bustling around the kitchen, the smell of freshly baked goods wafting through the house, mingling with the scent of her favorite lavender cleaning spray.

Your heart fluttered at the thought—you can't wait to hear his opinion in your hero collection.

Your mom had taken the chance to invite his mother for a chat too—she loved getting to know new people, His mother had accepted your mother's invitation with enthusiasm, promising she'd be delighted to join. Your mother, always the social butterfly, was thrilled to have the chance to chat and get to know her better.

Thud. Thud.

Your heart skipped a beat at the sound of the door. They're here.

"Sweetie, come down!" your mother called, her voice filled with a mixture of excitement and urgency.

"Coming!" you replied, quickly checking your reflection one last time before rushing down the stairs.

As you reached the doorway, you froze for a moment. There, framed by the entrance, stood Midoriya Inko, her kind smile immediately putting you at ease. Beside her, a small, nervous-looking Izuku Midoriya clutched the edge of his mother's dress, his wide, round green eyes darting from side to side as if the entire world was just a bit too overwhelming. When his gaze finally met yours, he gave you a shy smile, the kind that made his freckles stand out even more, and he waved his tiny hand in an awkward but endearing gesture.

You greeted them with a warm smile as your mom chimed in,

"Lunch will be ready in a little while," her tone full of warmth and excitement. She glanced over at you and Izuku.

"Why don't you two go hang out in your room until then?"

You nodded at her gently took Izuku's hand, feeling how small it was in yours. It was warm, just slightly sweaty, he was nervous too.

As you led him upstairs, a mix of excitement and jitters swirled in your chest. You gave his hand a comforting squeeze, hoping to ease his nerves.

"Welcome to my room!" you said, pushing the door open with a grin.

Izuku stepped in, his wide eyes darting around to take everything in. The room was cozy, with a beige sofa tucked neatly in one corner and your bed against the wall, covered in a white duvet. In the center of it sat a collection of plushies—a soft, beige teddy bear, a pink pig, and a depressed Pou.

The desk, though, was the centerpiece—an L-shaped white surface that stretched along the wall, holding shelves packed with books, legos you'd painstakingly built, and everything was organized just how you liked it. But what really caught his attention was: your hero collection.

You could practically see the admiration in his eyes as he stared at it. It had everything—a dazzling array of action figures, posters, and merch from all your favorite pro heroes. There was All Might in his classic pose, Gang Orca looking fierce, Ectoplasm, Best Jeanist with those cool jeans, Edgeshot looking misterious, and more. It was your personal shrine to the heroes, all thanks to a huge sale at the mall. Your parents had snagged the entire set for a steal, making it the best shopping trip you'd ever had.
