"Is that supposed to be a monkey??"
Bakugo Katsuki's voice rang out, loud and sharp.
Y/N felt her hand freeze.
She blinked down at her drawing, her face heating up.
A monkey?
Turning slowly, she met Bakugo's smirk. He leaned over her shoulder, arms crossed, eyes glinting with amusement as a couple of kids nearby started snickering.
He had this habit of standing just close enough to annoy her but not close enough for her to kick him.
Y/N narrowed her eyes.
"It's not a monkey," she shot back, her voice steady despite her embarrassment.
"It's a lion. You know, king of the jungle?"
She waved her hand at the scribbled mane, trying to sound smart, though her stomach twisted.
It doesn't really look like a lion... does it?
Bakugo snorted.
"A lion? Yeah, sure. With arms like spaghetti? And that tail? Looks like it's about to swing from a tree."
Her cheeks flushed, and she glanced down again. Okay, maybe the tail was a little too long. But she wasn't about to back down.
"You wouldn't get it, Bakugo," she huffed, lifting her chin.
"It's abstract. You know, artistic interpretation."
"Artistic interpretation?" Bakugo echoed with a mock serious expression.
"Oh, I get it. It's supposed to be so bad that it's art."
Y/N bristled, resisting the urge to throw her crayon at him. Instead, a thought flickered in her head, and a sly smile crept onto her face.
"Well, if you think you're so great, why don't you draw a lion?"
Bakugo's grin widened like she'd just handed him a trophy.
Without a word, he grabbed a blank piece of paper and sat down cross-legged beside her. His pencil scratched the surface quickly, his hand moving with surprising precision for a 4-year-old.
He was good at this—annoyingly good.
Y/N peered over, watching as the lion's fierce mane took shape. Its body was perfectly proportioned, the face sharp and proud, like it could leap right off the page.
Great, even his lions look like they could win awards.
He finished with a dramatic flourish, thrusting the paper in front of her.
"That's a lion."
Y/N glanced from his drawing to hers, trying not to let the comparison sting too much.
His lion was... well, it actually looked like a lion. But she wasn't about to admit defeat.
She scrunched her nose thoughtfully and gave him a smirk of her own.
"It's decent," she said, trying to sound casual, though she was internally cringing.
"But, you know, it's missing something."
Bakugo raised an eyebrow.
"Missing something? Like what?"
Y/N leaned in, tapping the lion's tail.
"It's missing imagination. Where's the fun? The wild hair...this lion is too serious." She pointed to the scribbled mane of her lion. "Now this guy has character.
