It's a wonder why these girls...
THE SILENCE THAT ENGLUFED the breezy evening wasn't defeaning. But it was more comfortable than you'd expect, seeing as S21 seemed to be acting slightly bitter towards S19.
S19's question lingered. S21 slowly moved her legs back and forth, the quiet splashes of water being the only source of noise (other than the occassional bird and rustling of trees).
"I don't know." S21 replied eventually, "What do you want us to be?" She asked quietly, staring down at her feet.
S19 stayed quiet for a moment, considering the question. She spoke softly, "Something."
S21 finally turned her head to look at the girl for the first time since she walked away. "'Something'?"
"Mm." S19 hummed in response, unable to say anything else.
"What is 'something' to you?" She asked, their conversation carrying on quietly.
S19 swallowed the lump in her throat and continued to stare at the glistening water infront of her. She wasn't sure about S21's feelings towards her. Sure, the pair had shared the last week spending lots of time together, but it still wasn't clear. Their inner feelings weren't exactly articulated loud enough.
She sighed, "Something is not... Nothing." She started, leaning back onto the concrete behind her, her arms steadying her. "Something is... Different."
S21 stayed quiet as she watched S19 process her thoughts.
"Something..." She breathed in, "Something is more than just whatever i have between anyone else here." She turned her head to look at S21. "I'm not sure what you want to hear, but... I want us to be 'something'." She explained as her eyebrows furrowed.
S21 squinted her eyes as the setting sun hit her face, staring at S19. "You want us to be 'something'?" She asked for reassurance, her expression not carrying much other than the entrance of trust.
As she watched S19 nod in response, she looked back down at her feet. "You're not lying are you?" She asked, "You're not going to go sitting on S2's lap like that again, are you?"
A hint of humour laced through her words as she looked over towards S19 with a small smirk. S19 looked at her in annoyance, though while holding back a chuckle, and nudged her in the shoulder.
"I told you i'd explain! I was sitting like that because i was trying out a new style of eye makeup and it was easier!" She explained, her eyebrows raised. "I swear to you."
S21 narrowed her eyes at her before holding up her hand, her pinky pointing towards her.
S19 glanced at her finger and then looked back up at her again. She chuckled, intertwining her pinky with her own.
"To... 'something'." S21 said quietly, looking up at S19.
"Right. To 'something'."
When the girls arrived back inside, S16 asked them if they were alright. When they told her that they were fine and walked off, S16 sighed and leaned back against the sofa.
"You alright?" S5 asked, glancing over at her and away from the tv.
S16 nodded, "Yeah." She replied quietly, tuning her focus back onto the tv infront of them.
S5 watched her silently, trying to figure out what she was thinking, but she was hopeless. She was left to wonder about what may be on the japanese girl's mind.
In the dim-lit yellow room, S14 sat on the floor with a pencil in hand, staring down at her journal. Her new keyboard sat infront of her as she did so, occassionally setting her pencil down to play a few chords.
While she was at that, S15 was beginning to fall asleep on the top bunk, her long legs bent slightly to actually fit inside the bed.
As S14 begun singing quietly, S15's sleep was no more. Her eyes opened and she froze in her place.
S14's voice wasn't as deep as S15 imagined, but it was just as smooth as she did. Although it was smooth, there was a slight huskiness to it that made it all more attractive.
S15 shuffled slowly and turned around in her bed to face the barriers. She peeked through the metal bars and watched S14 sing softly with her eyes closed.
Without realising, a fond smile formed on S15's face as she pulled the bed sheets closer towards her face.
She noticed that she was wearing rimless glasses, her hair falling over her face as she wrote in her journal again.
The room was silent for a while, the only sound being faint scribbles against paper.
When S14 begun to sing again, S15 listened closely, curious as to what she was writing about.
She sung quietly, "날 둘러싼 공기를 바꿀래, 더 날아올라 high up, mmm..." She then begun mumbling and lip syncing a few other things as she wrote in her journal.
"So come on closer, hold me tight, 다 이뤄내 펼쳐질 미래, oh..." When she finished, she smiled and shut her journal, placing it back into her bag, along with the pencil.
Just as she turned off the keyboard, she glanced up at S15, who was pretending to sleep, and quietly buried herself under her own duvet beneath.
