The Cut.

"And we were right outside like this. And all we hear is just, "Bam! Bam! Bam!"" JJ said, recreating what happened at Lana's house to Pope and Kie on the Chateau's porch. "Knocking paint off the wall, G! From the inside. All right? And I'm just looking at him, like--" JJ continued before walking over to where Kie and Pope were sitting, rustling through his hair to make the small paint chips fall out and some dandruff. "Wait, first off, look at this..." He said as Pope and Kie scoffed at him, thinking he was being dramatic.

"That's dandruff... disgusting." Kie scoffed as Pope dusted off his lap.

"Okay, thank you..." Pope sighed sarcastically.

"Look at all of that. All right? That's paint." JJ said when he moved to grab the blunt behind his ear. "At that point, I was just, like... I'm waiting for death..."

"Oh, okay, so you saw the guys that shot at us, right?" Pope asked, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Yeah." JJ nodded, pacing a bit.

"Did you get a good description of them? What did they look like?" Pope asked him.

"Anything," Kie added.

"Anything we can bring to a police report?" Pope continued to ask as Kie glanced at John B, who stood behind her.

"Yeah," Kie said, turning back to JJ.

"Burly..." JJ said, making Pope and Kie furrow their brows.

"Burly?" Pope asked as he looked at JJ in disbelief.

"Yeah. You know, like--" JJ started to explain himself.

"That's not very helpful..." Kie scoffed.

"Okay, well, no, like the type of guy at my dad's garage." JJ tried to clarify his description. "I mean, you guys know he made cargo hides for drug smugglers." He added.

"Yeah. Yes... No, we know." Kie sighed, knowing JJ's dad had always been a sore subject.

"I can tell you with full confidence, these boys, these killers... they're square groupers," JJ said, puffing his blunt as he moved to lean on the bricks again.

"They're square groupers, like narco square grouper?" Pope asked as he covered his hands over his face in frustration. "Like Pablo Escobar square grouper?" He continued to ask as JJ nodded, taking another puff.

"Yeah, man."

"You guys, not everything is a kingpin movie." Kie scoffed at them.

"Okay... So, what does this square grouper look like Specifically?" He continued to ask when JJ got frustrated by all of those questions.

"You weren't there, bro!" JJ said to Pope.

"Apparently, you don't know what to look for!" Pope scoffed, raising his voice at JJ.

"Dude! I wasn't taking little mental Polaroids the entire time. I was under duress, okay?" JJ said as he yelled a bit, getting overwhelmed. "But I can tell you... I can tell you by the way that Ms. Lana was screaming... that these guys are serious, serious hombres, man." JJ sighed as John B looked down, opening up the compass. "It's a heavy vibe right now, okay? I'm not liking this very much..."

"Why do they want the compass?" Kie asked the boys.

"It's a piece of crap... You couldn't pawn it off for five bucks if you wanted to." Pope scoffed before turning to look to John B. "No offense, John B... I know it's in your family--" Pope tried to say, but John B looked up, looking at his friends.

"The office." John B said, making his friends and his sister look at him.

"What?" Pope asked him as the four of them were confused.

"My dad... My dad's office." John B said, walking towards the door to go back into the house. "He always kept the office locked because he was worried about his competitors stealing his Royal Merchant research. We used to laugh at him like he was gonna find it. But now that he's gone, I've just kinda... I just left it as he kept it." John B said, stopping at the locked door as his friends followed him.

"Yeah, for when he gets back." Kie smiled at John B.

"Yeah..." He said softly while he took the keys out to unlock the padlock on the door.

"I've slept over here like 600 times, and I've never seen this door opened," Pope said as the group followed John B inside.
