After leaving the construction site, John B drove the van down the nice road. They passed a few houses, but they were mainly rental condos. It was not until he drove by the big, fancy, state-funded bridge that the scenery got more "expensive."

"It's the sort of place where you either have two jobs or two houses.

Two tribes. One island."

As he got by the bridge, John B looked out to see expensive yachts, fancy houses, freshly mowed yards, and the golf course past the bridge. All while the other ones were talking about something in the back of the van. JJ and Pope were going back and forth. John B tuned them out so he did not hear what they were talking about.

Anyone who drove by this part of the island had to know that the rich, or as they would call themselves "well-off," people lived here. Or, as the locals called them, "Kooks."

"All right. This is Figure Eight, the rich side of the island—home of the Kooks.

So, guess where we don't live."

He continued to drive by the golf course until he reached a less fancy bridge. It was obvious to anyone that the scenery and funding of this side of the island were vastly different.

The view was different from the yachts and the country club. Instead, there were old docks that were probably rotting, overgrown yards, old fish shacks and trailers, and used/dirty fishing boats.

"And then, this is the south side or the Cut. Home of the working class who make a living busing tables, washing yachts, running charters.
