The House Cup

Harry and I awaken almost simultaneously as we lay in a hospital bed together. Harry's hand is managed as is my writing arm. Harry sits up and puts his glasses on, There are cards and candy all over. Dumbledore approaches us. "Good afternoon, Harry, Hally. Ah. Tokens from your admirers?" He questions. "Admirers?" Harry asks as I tilt my head, "What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows." The three of us smile as I giggle.

"Ah, I see your friend Ronald has saved you the trouble of opening your Chocolate Frogs." Dumbledore tells us. "Ron was here? Is he all right? What about Hermione?" Harry questions. "Fine. They are both just fine." He tells us, "even those twins of yours are," he adds, looking directly at me. "But what happened to the Stone?" Harry asks, confused. "Relax, dear boy. The Stone has been destroyed. My friend Nicholas and I had a little chat and agreed it was best all around." Dumbledore informs us.

"But then, Flamel, he'll die, won't he?" Harry realizes making me frown, "He has enough Elixir to set his affairs in order. But yes, he will die." Dumbledore says, sitting on the edge of the bed. "How is it I got the Stone, sir? One minute, I was staring in the mirror, and the next Hally had it," Harry reveals. "Ah. You see, only a person who wanted to find the Stone, find it, but not use it, would be able to get it. That is one of my more brilliant ideas. And between you and me, that is saying something." Dumbledore says, making me laugh.

"Does that mean, with the Stone gone, that is, that Voldemort can never come back?" Harry asks, "Ah, I'm afraid there are ways in which he can return. Harry, Hally, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you two touch him?" Dumbledore asks. I shake my head no as does Harry, "It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you. And that kind of act leaves a mark." Dumbledore tells us. Harry and I touch our marks, "No, no, this kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin." He informs us.

"What is it?" Harry asks him, "Love, Harry, your mother loved you two," Dumbledore says before patting Harry's head gently and standing up. "Ah. Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. I was most unfortunate in my youth to come across a vomit-flavoured one. And since then, I'm afraid I've lost my liking for them. But I think I could be safe with a nice toffee." He says eating a candy. "Mm. Alas! Earwax." He says, shrugging. Harry and I smile as I laugh softly.

Nurse Pomfrey comes over to us as Dumbledore walks away, "Glad you two are awake. How are you feeling?" She asks, checking Harry over. "I'm good, can we leave?" Harry asks. She chuckles, "You're good to go. Let me check over Hally. If I dare even think of sending her off still hurt I think those twins of hers would prank me to death." She says, making us laugh. She checks me over gently before giving me the go-ahead, too.

Harry changed while she checked me over, and once he heard I'm good, he held me off the bed. I quickly change before we head out, looking for Ron and Hermione. We enter a corridor where, up on a stairwell balcony, Hermione and Ron are talking. They stop when they see us and lean over the railing. "All right there, Ron?" Harry calls up to him. "All right. You?" Ron calls down, smiling.

"All right. Hermione?" He says, shrugging, "Never better." She says, smiling. They walk down to us and I hug them tightly, "Hal, the twins are in the Great Hall probably waiting for you," Ron tells me after I've hugged them all. I smile and skip off to the Great Hall. I walk into the hall when all of a sudden I am practically tackled. I giggle and squeeze the twins.

"We were so worried, we immediately went to Dumbledore. First time in his office without us being in trouble," Fred says. I smile, still laughing. George, let's go first and looks me over, "Madam Promfrey checked you over, right?" He asks. I nod smiling to the boy. Fred picks me up and twirls me as the golden trio walk in. They laugh seeing us. "Let her go, her ravenclaw friends need to see her," Hermione says, laughing. Fred puts me down and George gives me another quick hug before letting me walk to my table as they walk to theirs.

"Hally!" Akemi shouts as I sit down, "We are so glad you're okay. Hagrid has Dia and Saph," Zuri tells me as Piper waves along with everyone else. I sit down and we start eating. The next couple of days, we wait for our exam results as I am completely mute with my arm being broken still. Finally, our results are revealed. Ravenclaws had the most Outstandings. Me and Hermione got top of all the first years shockingly, but even more shockingly, the boys didn't fail.

We are now headed to the Great Hall for the end of year feast to see who won the House Cup. I walk in beside Akemi and Zuri and spot the green and silver banners with the Slytherin symbol above their heads, already indicating the house with the most points. We frown but tell ourselves we got more years as we sit down and start eating. Once almost everyone arrives, we hear McGonagall clink her spoon to her glass to ask attention from the students.

The Hall falls silent, Dumbledore stands up and speaks with his magically magnified voice. "House cup needs awarding. And the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor with 312 points." I clap alongside some others. "Third place, Hufflepuff with 352 points." Even more applause is heard. "In second place, Ravenclaw with 426 points." A really good amount of claps is heard and even some cheering, most likely the twins.

"And in first place, with 472 points, Slytherin house." Dumbledore says. A loud roar rises from the Slytherin table, as students stand up and clap for themselves. Snape claps for his house but Dumbledore silences them all. "Yes, yes, well done, Slytherin. Well done, Slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account. And I have a few last-minute points to award." He says.

"To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in grave peril, 50 points." I clap and giggle as her face turns to shock. Her table claps loudly as Harry claps her on the back. "Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, 50 points." I clap again and laugh even more as his jaw drops. "And third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house 60 points." The Gryffindor table claps even louder.

Malfoy has a cringing look on his face, while Harry sees a proud, smiling Professor McGonagall at the teacher's table. I do the math quickly and tell my tablemates that they are tied with Slytherin. "Fourthly, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom." I clap very loudly for the boy as Gryffindor cheers again.

"Shockingly in a turn of events, the Weasley twin can be awarded 5 points each for alerting us to the troubles they were facing." He says, making me giggle. "And lastly, to Ms. Hally Potter. I award 66 points, for outstanding loyalty and every lasting courage. Thanks for making Neville comfortable while he waited," Dumbledore announces as my jaw drops.

"Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe that a change of decoration is in order. Giving us an even more unexpected shocking turn of events," Dumbledore says as he claps andmotions his hands towards the Slytherin banners, where they flap heavily, until the banners have changed to now half red and gold and half  blue and bronze.

The Great Hall explodes with applause, not only from the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, but also from the Hufflepuffs because they are glad that for the first time in seven years, someone other than Slytherin has won the House Cup. Professor Flitwick claps and smiles proudly, as does McGonagall.

Hagrid can't help himself to also cheer, and all students except the Slytherins throw their hats in the air, while Malfoy angrily throws his on the table in defeat. The Gryffindors around Harry are all congratulating him, and Harry smiles to Hagrid, who smiles back. As the Ravenclaws around me cheer me on loudly. I smile widely, making eye contact with Hagrid next. He laughs at my face and smiles widely back to me. The twins come over and cheer me on before leaving and going off.
