Chapter 20

Goodbyes

At Hogsmeade station, students are walking around, getting on the train. We overhear Hagrid as he instructs the kids where to go. "Come on, now. Hurry up, you'll be late. Train's leaving. Go on. Go on. Come on, hurry up." Hagrid says loudly over the train. Harry hands Hedwig to a train man as I continue holding my snakes. Harry walks to an open door of the train with Hermione. Hermione waves to Hagrid, who waves back. Hermione gets on the train.

"Come on, Harry, Hal," She says. I hold up a finger, making her nod, I smile thankfully to her. "Thought you were leaving without saying goodbye, didja?" Hagrid says as we walk over to him. I tear up and shake my head no at the man. Hagrid takes a red album out of his coat pocket and hands it to Harry. "This is fer you two." He says.

Harry opens the album and sees a picture, moving, of us as babies with our parents. We are all smiling and waving. Harry smiles as do I. A couple of tears drop from my eyes ass Harry takes the time to thank him. He shakes his hand. I set the snake cages down and hugged him tightly before handing him a note. On the note, I ask him if he minds watching the snakes. "Of course I wills." He says joyfully. I smile and hug a little tighter. He tightens his arms a little.

"Oh. Go on. On with you. On with you now." He says, letting go as he tears up a little too. "Oh, listen, Harry. If that dolt of a cousin of yours, Dudley, gives you any grief, you could always, um, threaten him with a nice pair of ears to go with that tail of his. Hally, make sure he doesn't go too far." Hagrid tells us. "But Hagrid, we're not allowed to do magic away from Hogwarts. You know that." Harry says.

"I do. But your cousin don't, do he? Eh?" Hagrid tells us chuckling, I giggle a little. "Off you go." He says, waving goodbye to us. Harry and I walk away, back to the train door where Hermione and Ron are waiting. "Feels strange to be going home, doesn't it?" Hermione asks, "I'm not going home. Not really." Harry says, making me nod in agreement.

The train whistles, and we climb aboard. As the train starts to leave, we wave goodbye to Hagrid out the window before finding a place for us to sit. We end up sitting with Neville, who kindly offered us the seats. "So how ya liking the Wizard world?" He asks as Harry and I sit next to him and Hermione and Ron sit across from us. "It's amazing, minus the you-know-who stuff," Hermione says, making me nod.

We talk about what the three of them will be doing over the summer. Every time we are asked, we dodge the question. After dodging about five times, Hermione catches on and tries to help avoid the topic, too. Ron, who can't pick up context clues, asks Harry who's picking us up from the station. As Harry starts to stutter, the door opens.

"Hiya, we shall be stealing Hal. Lee wants to meet her." George says. "In other terms, it's out turn with Hally." Fred says, sticking his tongue out at them. I giggle and stand up, waving goodbye to my friends before grabbing George's hand and letting him lead me to their compartment. "We really will miss you Hals," George says softly to me, 'Really?'I write as we continue walking. "Of course, you're our third Hal," Fred answers from a little ahead of me.

I tear up and smile up at George before Feed opens the door to their seats, "After you M'Lady," he says, extending an arm. I giggle softly and walk inside, George follows and sits next to Lee, so I sit across from him. Fred sits next to me as Lee says hello. I wave hi and smile wide at the boy. I lean my head on Fred's shoulder and decide to let myself take a little nap as the boys talk amongst themselves.

A couple of hours later, I find myself waking up to Akemi laughing. I tilt my head confused and grab my wand, 'when did you get here?' I write. "Like two hours ago, Zuri was here too, but she went off to find Dorian," Akemi tells me. I nodded and took in my surroundings. Not only did she appear, but the twins switched. I point to George, who was under my head but is now across from me, and I tilt my head.

"See! I told you she knows us apart!" George says to Lee after seeing my confused look. "How?!" Lee shouts as Akemi giggles, "I'm curious too," she asks. I just shrug, making them laugh at me. I pull out my word wand 'how long was I asleep for?' I ask, "uhh like six hours. That's why we had to switch. I had to use the restroom," George says. I nod before standing up, 'im gonna go use the restroom, then check in on Harry,' I write before waving goodbye to them.

I spent the rest of the train trip with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Neville before we all said our goodbyes. I rushed to tell the twins goodbye before we got off and got two very tight hugs. I waved bye to most my ravenclaw friends and grabbed my trunk that Harry set in front of me. He grabs Hedwig, and we walk out of the station together.

When we arrive at Dursley's house, Petunia scoffs at Hedwig and calls Vernon into the walkway. Vernon sneers at us and orders Harry to give him Hedwig's cage. Harry refuses, causing Vernon to grab my arm. "Okay, okay, let her go! You can have her!" Harry shouts, saying sorry to Hedwig quietly before handing Vernon the cage. Vernon let's go of me, so I instantly rushed back to Harry's side and rubbed my arm where he held it tightly.

Vernon walks to the kitchen and sets Hedwig's cage on the table before grabbing a padlock and placing it on her cage. I frown as Harry pleads with our uncle. He doesn't listen. "Now, give me all your books," He demands, Harry and I reluctantly do so before he then makes Harry give him his broom. Harry frowns sadly but doesn't say anything else as Verbon locks our stuff away. "Take this stupid owl and go to your room!" Verbon shouts, pushing me out of the kitchen.

Harry follows, and we rush up the stairs to our room, Harry sets Hedwig on the desk and tries his hardest to open her cage. "I'm sorry, girl." He says, frowning. Hedwig lets out a tiny hoot, causing Harry to tear up. 'It'll only be a couple months,' I write, trying to reassure Harry. I sit on the bed and pat the spot next to me, Harry sits down and leans on my shoulder, looking sadly at Hedwig. We survived ten years here, and we can last a summer.

Authors note; I would just like to say thank you if you read all the way through, and I am so sorry for disappearing for like three months. I got into my first healthy relationship after an abusive one and have been focusing on myself. Hopefully, I'm back now, though. I hope you all have an amazing day <3
