EMILY LOOKED AT herself in the mirror. She was nervous. She had a few minutes before Bradley was going to pick her up. The dorms were basically completely empty. Everyone had left to go to their families and friends for Christmas, but they had no one to go back to, so they stayed there.
She was trying on the dress she had brought with her. It was kind of old, but she had worn it, like, two times so it was as good as new. It was a backless black satin dress and it fit her body and her forms perfectly. She had let her brown hair down, which with the winter weather had become darker again, and had put on a bit of makeup even if she really didn't like wearing it and she didn't even have time to at the academy.
Katherine was helping her get ready. She was one of the girls at the academy she shared her dorm with and she also didn't have someone to go to, so she had stayed there.
"You look great, don't be nervous", Katherine assured her with a smile.
"What if something goes wrong?", Emily nervously asked.
"Nothing will go wrong. Now come on, I'm sure he's already waiting for you", Katherine told her and began to lead her outside their dorm.
Emily had been waiting for this moment basically her whole life. She always had a small crush on him, but never said anything because when they were teens she was too young for him, but now a four years age gap wasn't actually bad. But what scared her the most was that if this didn't go well their friendship could have ended and she didn't want that to happen.
With a sigh she hugged Katherine to try and wear her nervousness off and stepped outside her dorm. At the end of the long hallway of the female dorms there was Bradley and standing next to him Logan.
