"MAVERICK AND STAR ARE downwind, no front landing gear. No tail hook. Pull the cables and raise the barricades", Maverick spoke through the radio as they finally began to reach the boat.
Then as they flew he locked eyes with his daughter beside him and a smirk formed on his face. He didn't need to say anything and she immediately understood before flying behind him. They made a turn and flew fast right by the tower, shaking it slightly as they passed it. What was another fly-by on their file, anyway?
Then they flew back towards the boat beside each other when they heard Rooster speak up.
"Please, don't tell me we lost an engine", he sighed.
"Fine, I won't tell you that", Maverick simply replied and the two twins laughed at that.
Soon they got closer to the boat, each of them going to their separate runaways to land. Star clenched her jaw, the pain was pretty high at this point, but she didn't care. She gripped the joystick and when the plane touched the runway they all let out a grunt. It took the planes a few seconds before they stopped thanks to the barricades. Finally it was over.
"You okay?", Emily asked her brother.
"Yeah", Logan replied with a smile.
Quickly a big mob of the cheering crew and their own squadron began to surround the two planes. The canopies lifted and they began to get out of their planes. Logan was the first to touch ground while Emily was more careful in her movements since at this point the pain was pretty high. Her brother quickly helped her down, a huge smile on his face as the cheering crowd welcomed them back.
