A COUPLE OF DAYS went by and training after training Maverick always managed to win, well except for both times he went against Emily and Logan. Emily had gotten some good selfies with her and Jake doing those 200 push-ups in the back. He owed her about 100 dollars now since he had also lost the bet he had started himself.
Now Emily and Logan were back in the room in the base while Jake and Bradley were up in the sky.
"So, Rooster, mind if I ask you a personal question?", they heard Hangman ask him. Emily rolled her eyes. Not even a minute in and he was already starting to be a dick.
"Would it matter if I said no?", Rooster sarcastically asked him.
"So, what's the story with you and Maverick? It seems like he's got you rattled. Not only you, Star and Storm, too. What is it with you guys?", he asked him and at this Logan and Emily could feel the looks the others were giving them.
Everywhere they went they never told anyone (obviously apart from their superiors) they were Maverick's children. He had his reputation, as good or as bad as it was, and they didn't want the others to see their father whenever they talked to them. Especially because they didn't really have a great relationship with him.
"That's none of your business", Rooster simply replied, not letting him get to him. "Now where the hell is he?"
"Been here the whole time", they suddenly heard Maverick say.
"Holy shit", they heard Hangman shout with a shocked tone. Logan and Emily looked at each other with a knowing sigh. He just went inverted.
