Srishti's PoV

Merciless beast.

Arrogant jerk.

Ruthless ass.

How heartless can a person be? Isn't Enzo his nephew? Such as prick.

Tonight is the night I run away and crush his ego.

But I will return tomorrow and brag about my superior intelligence.

"Madam, let's go," Paul said.

"I don't want to."

"Don't make this harder for both me and you, madam. Either I forcefully escort you or you willingly come with me" he said. That is the longest he spoke to me.

I sighed and willingly followed behind him.

I entered my room and sat down on the bed thinking about my next course of action.

There is a back door in the kitchen from where the servants usually leave the house. I can probably escape from there.

I opened my suitcase to grab some money. I will need it to survive the night outside the mansion.

I unzipped my wallet and luckily there was a bundle of five hundred rupee notes in it.

I am rich.

I took a few notes from the bundle and put it in my jeans pocket.

While I was stuffing the notes in my pocket, realisation hit me. I am in Chicago, not India. I forgot to get the currency changed.

Fuck!

What will I do now?

I rolled on the floor in dismay. How dumb can a person be? Definitely not as dumb as me.

I couldn't believe I had forgotten such an important task. I was going to exchange it the day before the marriage but I had to meet the dealer to discuss the sale of my cafe on last-minute notice. The currency exchange entirely slipped my mind.

I got up and picked up my wallet to put the money back. My dream of crushing his ego got crushed.

While I was drowning in sorrow, a shiny grey colour card caught my eye. My saviour was sitting in there but I didn't notice. It was the card my sister gave me before leaving the house.

I took the card out and held it in my hands.

God exists.

I kissed it and put it in my front pocket very carefully.

For the rest of the evening, I surfed on the internet all the places I could visit and calculated the expenses. I do not know the card's limit but I had a figure in my mind.

"Madam, time for dinner." Paul knocked on the door.

"Coming" I yelled from inside.

I went along with Paul to the dining hall.

Everyone was there except Arthur. Enzo waved at me as soon as I entered the hall.

I waved back and gave him a flying kiss.

He looked fine. There were a few bandages on his hands and legs. I think it's better if I don't ask him about what happened earlier in front of everyone.

I sat beside him and smiled. I decided to shut my mouth.

I am confident that if I open my mouth I will give away my plan.

I will boast about it tomorrow, for today I will hold myself back.

Arthur entered the hall and he looked as if he hit a jackpot. His facial muscles looked more relaxed than usual but there was no smile, not a surprise.
