~~Arthur's PoV~~
Everyone left. Good thing they didn't stay longer, otherwise I would have lost my bloody mind.
I immediately rushed into my study. I called for Andrew's attendance with me.
"Get all the member's names in the organisation," I ordered.
Elections in the organisation are a very big deal. It is a mandate for every member to cast their vote. If they skip the elections for what so ever reason, their position in the organisation is revoked.
Andrew got me a list of twenty names. Seven of whom had close ties with me. I could trust them to be on my side.
I already lost seven votes, Fin, Damien and their close friends.
If my father announces his support for Fin, I will lose the remaining six votes.
The remaining six were my father's close allies during his time as Capo. They side blindly with the candidate my father sided with.
I need to try winning over Fin's allies. That fucker can't be nice to people for a long time. He must have offended everyone at some point.
I also need to deal with Isabella's killer. That would improve my image.
That woman asked for nine months. I don't have that kind of time. She will come here in two months, that is when I will get the answer out of her. I don't care.
"Capo, Carolina Aalders will be using the money to pay the press," my man informed.
I investigated why she needed the money. I can't hand over the cheque signed with my name casually.
Media?
I looked at him to continue.
"She wants them to publish a news," he said.
Media is vastly influenced by powerful people. Free speech and truth are bullshith in this world. It is all about money and TRP.
She is bribing the media to publish certain news that they wouldn't usually in fear of Fin.
Interesting.
Anything that will hurt Fin, I am all for it. The worse his image gets hit, the better.
I don't even want her to pay me back now.
I skipped dinner today. I am finally in a little good mood.
I directly headed to my lab. I am in the mood to create something new, something deadly.
~~Srishti's PoV~~
Rebecca's sneak-out plan got cancelled. I was very excited about it.
I had a very important discussion to have with Arthur. But he didn't show up to dinner.
I had my dinner.
I immediately set out in search of Arthur. Paul told me he must be in his lab. I didn't know he was a scientist.
Paul showed me the way to his lab. It was the last room, down the hall.
I knocked on it. He didn't respond. I knocked again, a little louder this time. There was no answer from the other side of the door.
We can't enter the room without the thumbprint. I don't think my print is instilled in it. I tried, but it declined.
I looked at Paul. He must have some card, like he had with the elevator.
"I can't," he said even before I could ask him the question.
"You won't or you can't," I asked him for clarity.
