XIII

Things in the future wasn't going so well. Hunter had been given the word by Orore that they were suspecting an attack which didn't bode well for the activities going on inside. Blood was dripping down Kitty Pryde's side as Bobby desperately tried to stop the bleeding.

Eventually after lots of blood stained clothes were used, Kitty had stopped bleeding for the meantime. Bobby had gathered Charles, Erik and Hunter to warn them of the consequences.

"She can't keep going like this" Bobby told them.

"We have no choice Bobby" Erik told him with urgency in his voice.

"We can wake him up"

"No!" Charles and Hunter both said at the same time as the woman stood in his path.

"They need more time" Charles instructed. "I had... a glimpse into the past. If we wake Logan now, we may set our fate onto an even darker course. They need more time"

Bobby looked down as he mumbled. "There is someone else"

"No, no one has Kitty's power" Charles told him.

"Someone who could take her powers. Take her place" Bobby explained as Hunter knew exactly who he was talking about. "She took yours before"

"Rogue" Erik spoke.

"I'm sorry Bobby, she must be dead" Charles told Bobby who threw his hands up in exasperation. "I haven't been able to make connection with her for years"

"And Bobby, hun, if Rogue was still alive, she would be far too weak to take over. It would kill her" Hunter told the man.

"So you would kill Kitty instead?" Bobby shot back, making Hunter frown, it's not what she meant at all.

"You can't reach her mind because they're keeping her the one place you can reach from the outside. She's in Cerebro. She's in your house professor, they're experimenting on her. Trying to tap into her powers to take ours, take all of ours"

"If you knew this why didn't you go after her?" Erik scowled.

"We tried it was too heavily guarded" Bobby said quickly.

"I may know a few things about that house that they don't" Charles nodded.

All four of the adults walked back over to the table where Kitty was struggling with her breathing and keeping concentration.

"Kitty, I'm going to get help" Bobby whispered. "I'm gonna bring back someone who can help you"

"Please just bring yourself back" Kitty mumbled as Bobby gently pressed a kiss to her lips.

If Logan was there, he probably would of took the piss out of Hunter for frowning at the two who were obviously in love, but he wasn't. But Hunter knew that they were going to bring back Rogue safely and everything was going to work out... hopefully.

A few agonizing hours later, the Professor and Erik returned with hopefully, Rogue. And that they did. Inside, Hunter sat beside Kitty and they worked on steadying her breathing whilst Hunter patched up her accidental cut from Logan.

The two adults walked into the dimly lit room with Rogue slowly following them in. As soon as Hunter caught sight of the girl, Hunter immediately got up and hugged her, not caring about the effects on her at all. Returning the hug, Rogue smiled at the brunette who was much like a sister to her. Letting go of the girl, Hunter stood back as she slowly looked around the room, noticing Bobby was missing. Looking at Charles with urgency, he shook his head, making Hunter cover her mouth in shock. Meanwhile, Rogue and Kitty were only just getting accustomed to each other.
