Stargazing

Clair De Lune was playing softly from a radio.

The grass was soft beneath me.

The sky was dark, yet bright and beautiful in every way.

Stars and galaxies shown above, filling me with wonder.

It was strange, how the world around us toons had formed. We were made for a children's museum, to educate and help kids learn about the world and each other. Now, after all that has happened, we can't leave. We were never meant to leave.

Where would we go? Where would we stay? Humans couldn't accept us....things...... they wouldn't be able to meet our needs, and we wouldn't be able to meet their expectations.

I sat in a field filled with moonflowers, staring up at the sky with longing. I heard the bushes rustle behind me, but I already knew who it was.

"Astro...?.. what are you doing here?" He spoke, breaking the silence. He stepped over to me, sitting down and putting his hand on mine. His multicolored petals fluttered softly in the breeze.

"I'm stargazing." I replied simply, wishing for the silence to return.

From the corner of my eye, I could see him smirk slightly, a red gleam now in his eyes. "Oh please, Asy, you should know that I don't need to go outside to gaze at a star." He leaned his head on my shoulder.

I thought for a moment about what he said before blushing. "O-oh, er.....t-thanks...?...." God, I never know how to respond when people openly flirt....

Dandy kissed my cheek before pulling away. "Do you want to head back...? We still have a lot to do....."

I kept my head down, nodding. "Yea, we always have a lot to do." I used my four arms to push myself to my feet, holding out a hand to help Dandy. He gladly accepted, taking my hand and leading me back.

I'm glad to have a lover like him...... I didn't need to ask him to help guide me in the dark....... Sometimes, he didn't even need to touch me to do so. He just had to stay near, and I'd find my way out of the dark eventually.

Physically and mentally.
