Yoongi missed a week and a half of school. Jungkook had only seen him at the funeral and hasn't really spoken to him much.

Jungkook messages him once a day, usually about something happening in one of their two classes together.

Other than that, he tried to give Yoongi some distance. It was Wednesday, Jungkook was wondering through the halls, not expecting to see Yoongi at his locker.

He watched the elder as he kept his head down while he switched his things out. Jungkook wanted to go up to him, but Yoongi looked like he wanted to be left alone, so Jungkook started walking again even if his heart was pulling him in the other direction.

He didn't speak with Yoongi before their first class together. He wasn't going to talk to afterwards, but he couldn't help himself.

Yoongi blushed as he lifted his head and saw Jungkook standing in front of him. "Hey..." Jungkook said.

"Hey." Yoongi said before he got up and grabbed his things. Jungkook watched as Yoongi walked around him and left. Jungkook went after him, gently grabbing his arm.

"Hyung-"

"You didn't talk to me all day." Yoongi said. "What? Do you not like me anymore?" He asked.

"No! I do!" Jungkook said, watching as Yoongi rolled his eyes and walked away. "Hyung!"

"If you like me, why haven't you talked to me all day? I thought... I thought that maybe you realized all this— all my baggage was too much-!"

Yoongi blushed as Jungkook kissed him. Yoongi looked around and blushed more as everyone started whispering and gossiping.

"I told you... you're my life." Jungkook said softly. "I just thought maybe you'd like some space."

Yoongi looked down. "I'm... I'm sorry for overreacting... thank you... uh... you do know you just kissed me in front of everyone... right?" He asked.

Jungkook nodded. "I can do it again if you'd like." He said with a slight smirk, stepping closer and gently holding Yoongi's jaw in his hand.

"I mean... I wouldn't be mad if you did..." Yoongi said softly.

Jungkook smiled as he leaned in and closed the space between them, both of their eyes closing as they kissed each other softly.

"Oh, babe, I thought you said they weren't dating!" Hoseok said to Namjoon.

Yoongi and Jungkook pulled away from each other and looked over at them. "We aren't." Yoongi said.

"Yet." Jungkook said.

"What are you guys waiting for?!" Hoseok asked.

Jungkook looked into Yoongi's eyes. "I think hyung just needs a little more time, and I'm more than willing to wait for him." Jungkook said as he held Yoongi's hand.

Yoongi smiled and squeezed his hand a bit before they all walked to the cafeteria together.

The weeks that followed the kiss in the hallway were a whirlwind of emotions for both Jungkook and Yoongi. The initial spark that ignited between them felt electric, but soon the weight of grief began to settle heavily on Yoongi's shoulders.

At first, he embraced Jungkook's presence, leaning into the warmth and support that Jungkook offered. However, as the days turned into weeks, Yoongi began to feel suffocated. It was as if the walls of the school, the whispers of their peers, and the concerned glances from his friends were closing in on him.
