As the morning light filtered through the curtains, Jungkook stirred awake, a warm bliss enveloping him. He blinked against the soft brightness, his gaze landing on the serene face of Yoongi, who was still asleep beside him. A smile crept onto Jungkook's lips as he took in the sight of the man he loved, his heart swelling with happiness.
The feeling of Yoongi's arm draped over him, pulling him closer, made Jungkook feel safe and cherished. He snuggled deeper into Yoongi's embrace, relishing the moment. It felt surreal to wake up in each other's arms after the night they shared, a night filled with love, trust, and new beginnings.
"Good morning," Yoongi murmured, his voice husky with sleep as he stirred, his eyes fluttering open to find Jungkook looking at him with a grin.
"Good morning, hyung," Jungkook replied, his heart racing at the sight of Yoongi's sleepy smile. "I could get used to this."
"Me too," Yoongi said softly, brushing his fingers along Jungkook's cheek. "I've never felt so... happy."
Jungkook's smile widened at Yoongi's words. "I've never felt this happy either. It's like everything is finally falling into place." He hesitated, the thought of his day creeping back into his mind. "Actually, I was thinking... I have that meeting with my manager today about the art gallery. I could just call and cancel it. I want to spend the whole day with you."
Yoongi's expression shifted slightly, a mix of surprise and concern. "Jungkook, you can't do that. This is an important opportunity for you."
"But I'd rather be here with you," Jungkook insisted, feeling a knot of frustration in his chest. "I don't want to go."
"Listen," Yoongi said gently, cupping Jungkook's face in his hands. "I get that it's tempting to skip it, but you've worked really hard for this. You should go. I'll be right here when you get back."
Jungkook sighed, a pout forming on his lips. "Fine... but would you like to come with me? I want you there."
Yoongi's eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Really? I'd love to! I've always wanted to see your artwork in person."
Jungkook beamed at the thought of sharing that part of his world with Yoongi. "Great! Let's get ready then."
Once they were both dressed, they headed to the art gallery, Yoongi waiting in the lobby for Jungkook. After the meeting, Jungkook couldn't control the anticipation bubbling within him as he entered the main room, leading Yoongi through the various exhibits. He felt a mix of nerves and excitement as he approached the area where his work was displayed.
Yoongi's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as they walked through the gallery. Jungkook felt a sense of pride swell within him as he watched Yoongi admire the pieces, his appreciation clear in the way he studied each brushstroke.
"Wow, Jungkook, this is incredible!" Yoongi exclaimed, standing before one of Jungkook's portraits. It was a vibrant portrayal of a landscape that spoke of hope and renewal. "You've really captured so much emotion in your work."
"Thank you, hyung," Jungkook replied, his heart racing at the praise. "It means a lot coming from you."
As they continued through the gallery, Yoongi paused in front of another portrait, and Jungkook's breath caught in his throat. It was a powerful black and gray piece depicting a young boy cowering beneath a looming shadow—an expression of fear and vulnerability that resonated deeply.
"Jungkook..." Yoongi breathed, stepping closer to examine the details. "This... it's so haunting. So raw." His voice trembled slightly, and Jungkook could see the emotions swirling in Yoongi's eyes.
"It's... it's about my darkest times," Jungkook confessed, his gaze dropping to the floor. "Even when I was struggling, I always saw you, in the shadows, pushing me away but also being there in some way. You were always my light, even when I couldn't see it."
Yoongi's heart ached at Jungkook's words. He walked closer to Jungkook, standing shoulder to shoulder as they both stared at the painting. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you more," he said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. "I didn't realize how much my own struggles were affecting you."
Jungkook turned to look at Yoongi, his eyes filled with remorse. "I just wanted to protect you. I thought if I kept my distance, it would help. But it didn't. I'm sorry for pushing you away."
"It's okay , it's okay," Yoongi said as he cupped Jungkook's face in his hands, kissing him a couple times. "it's in the past. let's just move on with our lives... our life together." Yoongi said with a smile.
Jungkook smiled back. "okay... oh! wait here baby, I have a surprise for you," he said softly before scurrying off.
Yoongi smiled to himself as he looked around at some of Jungkook's other pieces. once he came back, he gently tapped Yoongi's shoulder.
Yoongi turned to him and looked up at him before he looked down at the big plastic tube Jungkook had in his hand.
Yoongi looked between him and it as he took it. Jungkook watched as he opened it and dropped the rolled up paper in his hand before handing Jungkook the plastic tube.
"I painted this for you years ago..." he said as Yoongi opened it to reveal a very beautiful painting of the Milky Way.
"Jungkook..." he said softly.
"You were staring at it in the exhibit then you couldn't keep your eyes off that poster of it so I tried to recreate it."
Yoongi looked up at him. "I-"
"You're the reason— the reason for all of this," Jungkook said as he gestured to his various art works. "I wasn't into art like that until I wanted to paint this for you... I worked on it for months to perfect it.... I've grown a lot since then with my art, I could re do it-"
"No! no.... it's absolutely beautiful..." Yoongi said softly as he smiled and hugged Jungkook tightly.
"I love you, Jeon Jungkook." Yoongi said softly.
"I love you more, Min Yoongi." Jungkook said with a smile before they shared a passionate kiss. "Now come on! we have our life together to go start." Jungkook said as he took Yoongi's hand, both for them happy to be together at last.
The End.
