Amelia and I sat across from one another in a booth inside this lovely bakery where she insisted, we go to as according to her they have the best sweets in the world. We came into the bakery after walking around the pack for a bit before coming to reside inside this bakery. It had a simple but very soothing feel to the place making your concerns melt away. Amelia sat across from me with a French vanilla latte while I chose a simple cup of hot chocolate. As we sat here for a moment the woman who was behind the counter when ordered suddenly appeared at our table. She was an older lady with a kind and soothing presence and even though she is also a werewolf so she doesn't look any older than thirty you can tell from her graze she was much older than thirty as her eyes held a vast wisdom even with just one look. She placed a slice of pumpkin pie in front of me and a New York-style cherry cheesecake in front of Amelia. I smiled at her as we both thanked her before she left to go behind the counter again. We continued to sit there. Amelia continued talking, and I couldn't help but pick up my fork to try the pie before me.

The moment the taste of the pie settled on the tip of my tongue I couldn't help but close my eyes and moan in delight as it tasted amazing. The moment I swallowed it and opened my eyes I noticed Amelia staring at me with the biggest grin on her "See I told you they have the best desserts. I always come here when I need a pick-me-up after work or just for a lunch break depending on how bad the day was. But this place always makes me feel better no matter what happened earlier in my day." I nodded my head as I could tell exactly what she meant "I can certainly see what you mean. This is delicious." Suddenly the woman behind the counter chimed in "I'm glad to hear you all like them. But you girls are too kind, but I know there are still better pastry chefs out there." Amelia shook her head before smiling at the older woman "No yours is certainly better. And if there are better chefs out there, I would hate to meet them as they could never compare to you." She smiled at Amelia's words I smiled at her "These are truly delicious ma'am you shouldn't try to compare yourself to others and you should just be proud that you made something that everyone can enjoy."

She smiled at me with a charming yet all-knowing smile on her lips "That is truly kind dear, and you don't need to worry about me dear I take a lot of pride in what I do. But I'm not afraid to admit that there is someone better than myself as there will always be someone who can do better than you at something." I smiled to myself at the wisdom of her words as I nodded my head "My bad I didn't think of that." She chuckled softly "Don't worry dear I didn't take any offense to your words. But thank you for your kindness." I nodded my head and then she said, "I'll be right back if you all need me at any point feel free to ring the bell on the counter and I will come back instantly."

We both nodded our heads and then she turned around and headed to the back of the store where we couldn't see her anymore. Amelia smiled at me "See I told you it was a great place." I smiled at her before taking another bite of my pie as she did the same. And I nodded my head in agreement to her comment "Oh okay enough for the real reason I brought you here. You wanted to know how I went off on your mate and mine." She got a mischievous glint in her green eyes that made them appear as if they were glowing with life. I couldn't help the smirk that found its way onto my lips as I couldn't help but find Amelia charming and very entertaining that I just couldn't help a sense of kinship with her. Even as I just sit here and listen to her, I feel ever so drawn to her that the only way I know how to explain it is that I feel like we are becoming fast friends.

As we talked about her day and her interactions with our mates today, we were both cracking jokes and just enjoying ourselves. I didn't even realize that time was passing ever so quickly as we were so immersed in our conversations. Amelia had already bought us some more drinks and desserts as our conversation had gone on longer than we anticipated. It wasn't until the bell above the door opened that we looked up and noticed that it was already that it is nearly four o'clock in the afternoon. As soon as the door opened the woman behind the counter suddenly spoke "Hello honey. How was school today?"
