I sat down at one of the tables in the food court of the mall as I could feel pain in the soles of my feet from walking around so much plus carrying all these bags makes you feel like you are being weighed down. Sure, we animal shifters have superhuman strength and technically they are practically weightless but it's the mental drain of this trip that I am referring to. Mia has taken me to every shop and made me try on hundreds of outfits and clothes, ignoring my complaints or obvious displeasure about the whole thing without remorse. Sure, it's not all bad, and for the most part it's actually been fun as Mia, and I have talked the entire time about everything and nothing all at the same time. I haven't laughed this much in ages, and it's been nice to talk to someone again even if we don't get into anything too personal. I smile to myself as I carefully try to remove all the bags that are currently occupying nearly every space along my arms. I looked over at Mia who was standing in line for our food order, and she had just as many bags along her arms as I did if not just a little less although she was carrying them like a champ and not the slightest bit bothered by them in the slightest almost as if she is used to this. Although she seems used to all this the other people around us are not as they gawk and stare at Mia as they have probably never seen someone carry so much and not look so run down by it all. But Mia doesn't seem to notice the people staring or she just can't be bothered by it all which wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

The moment our food was ready Mia grabbed our tray of food and walked to the table I was sitting at. I immediately stood up and grabbed the tray from her and set it on the table so she could sit down more easily, and she smiled and thanked me as I did so. I nodded my head as she began to remove the bags from her arms I had just done so before she handed me my food and grabbed her own. The moment I smelt the food my stomach immediately grumbled in anticipation as hunger began to gnaw at my senses. Mia chuckled as she heard my stomach rumble in hunger "Hungry?" I shrugged my shoulders "Well considering I haven't eaten anything since..." I paused as I began compilating when I heard something. I could see the smile on Mia's face as a look of concern took its place as she watched me try to calculate how long it's been since I had eaten anything. I shook my head as I shrugged my shoulders again "I don't probably little more than forty-eight hours or so." Her eyes grew wide as saucers and her mouth opened slightly in surprise "Oh my god. You should have told me. We could have gotten you something to eat last night." She suddenly paused and shook her head "No we should have offered you something. For heaven's sake, you weren't a prisoner. You are our alpha's mate and our future luna. We should have been more hospitable."

I felt my heart swell at her kind words and obvious concern for me as I reached out and grabbed her hand causing her to look up at me "Thank you for caring about my well-being but I am fine." She sighed before looking at me with a determined look on her face "I'll let it go this time but from now on I promise that I will be more hospitable and make sure that you feel welcomed and are well taken care of since you can't be trusted to look out for yourself." I raised an eyebrow and smirked at her words as I couldn't help but find it oddly sweet but slightly amusing at the same time "Alright Mia, I'll take you up on your words." She smiled back at me and then suddenly got a strange look on her face "I just realized you know my name, but I have no idea what yours is." I smiled at her kindness, and I held out my hand as I said, "My name is Artemis Silverfang." She smiled as she reached out and grabbed my hand to shake as she said, "Hello Artemis my name is Amelia Calahan, but everyone just calls me Mia."

I smiled at her as I said "It's nice to meet you, Amelia. I know I won't always be the easiest to deal with at times, but I do hope we will get along and I hope if it's not too much trouble I hope we might be able to become friends one day as well." She smiled brightly at my words as she reached her hand over the table and gripped mine in her own giving it a reassuring squeeze "I would like that very much and don't worry I will help you win over our stubborn alpha and the rest of our pack. I think you will make a wonderful luna and I can already tell we will get along perfectly." I smiled at her words as I squeezed her hand back, I couldn't help feeling my heart swell at her words. After that, we sat there in silence as we enjoyed our food and I noticed that during that time she would be checking her phone periodically and would stop eating to message or do something on it, but I didn't bother to ask as it is none of my business, so I just focused on my food.
