The Goddess's Blessing

Chapter Seventeen

I woke up for the first time with a smile on my face for the first time since arriving here and as soon as I stretched out, I felt the softness of the bed surround me. The shirt that Mia gave me lay next to me still folded but slightly wrinkled as I fell asleep hugging it towards my body. His scent was still strongly attached to the shirt, and somehow, it managed to put me to sleep. As I sat up in the bed, I picked up the shirt and smoothed out the wrinkles before placing it back on the nightstand. After doing so I decided to get out of bed once I was out of bed I walked to the bathroom. After doing my business I turned on the water for a shower and ensured the water was just right before stepping inside.

Once I turned off the water, I stepped out of the shower with one towel wrapped firmly around my body while the other was around my hair. I then brushed my teeth before stepping out of the bathroom and back into my room. I walked to the closet to pick out the clothes I was going to wear today and placed them on the bed before removing the towel around my body as I began to get dressed. 

I changed into a black off-the-shoulder shirt with a pair of blue skinny jeans with holes in the knees (picture of the shirt and pants in the photo above). The jeans hugged my legs and hips perfectly as did everything that Amelia bought for me at the mall that I opted out of putting on a belt. I then slipped on a pair of black and white tennis shoes just in case as I didn't want to have to come back to the room if I decided to go outside. Once I was dressed, I dried my hair before brushing it before braiding my hair to the side. After that was done and since I was sitting at the vanity table to brush and braid, I decided to wear one of the necklaces she got me as well since I was staring at them while sitting there. I decided to go with a simple gold heart necklace that can also be worn as a chocker (picture of the necklace down below).

Once I was fully dressed for the day, I stood up, walked over to the bed, and began fixing it so it looked as good as new. Once I was finished with the bed that's when someone proceeded to knock lightly on my door. I walked over to the door with the book I grabbed off the nightstand in hand when I opened the door that's when I saw Kayden standing behind the door. He was standing there wearing a tight-fitted red short-sleeve shirt with loose-fitted gray sweatpants. His black hair was hanging around his face in damp ringlets as you could tell he had just gotten out of the shower just a few minutes ago.

When he looked at me his steel gray eyes began swirling with a mix of silver and gray as his eyes were filling with desire. He then closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them and in a husky voice he said, "You are so beautiful." I smiled at him "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." He smiled at me "Well I was coming to see you were awake and to see if you wanted to join me for breakfast this morning as it is already set. But I can already tell that you are up so would you like to join me for breakfast this morning?" 

"Oh, sure but I was planning on making something for breakfast so you could have some of my cooking like we talked about last night." His smile widened at my words "That's nice but I didn't want to have to bother you with that. As much as I would have enjoyed having your cooking, I want to enjoy something you haven't made for Mia." I couldn't help but find his obvious jealousy adorable as I simply rolled my eyes at his antics "I can make plenty of other dishes besides the omelet I made for Mia." He folded his arms over his chest and almost in a pout he said, "I'm aware but you've already made a breakfast dish for Mia so I would prefer something from an entirely different food category." I raised an eyebrow "You do realize how petty you sound right?"
