I just sat down across from Amelia who was joyfully enjoying the omelet I made her as I picked up my fork and took a bite of my own omelet. I smiled to myself I enjoyed my light and fluffy ham and cheese omelet as it was cooked perfectly. As I was savoring the bite of food, I just took Amelia suddenly looked at me and asked, "You haven't put down the book the whole time you were cooking is it really that good?" I nodded my head before swallowing the food that was in my mouth and saying "It's always nice to get a refresher course on things every once in a while." She raised her eyebrow before asking "A refresher huh? So, you are already checked up on our history." I nodded my head as she put the last bite of her food in her mouth and began to chew it but still looked at me with interest. "Yes, I have reviewed your history many times in the past and I can say that I am well versed on the subject although I wouldn't say that I am an expert."

She nodded her head at my words and then watched me as I took another bite of my food before she asked, "And do pray tell what exactly is about our history that you find so interesting to cause you to read it more than once?" I took a sip of my ice water in front of me before saying "There are many things about your history that I find interesting." Amelia raised an eyebrow as if to tell me to continue "Well for one thing I find it interesting that your history textbooks don't mention why tiger shifters and wolf shifters don't get along."

I noticed Amelia's eyebrow twitch before she asked, "And what do you think that reason is?"

"The whole feud started because of a disagreement about one's difference in their beliefs." Mia pressed her lips together and made a mmhh sound before asking "And what belief would that be?"

"Well as you already know wolf shifters such as yourself believe that the moon goddess granted your abilities as well as match you up with your fated mate. And for all wolfkind alike the moon goddess is the one and only god in your eyes." Amelia crossed her arms in front of her and raised her eyebrow as if she was saying 'And what about it?' Over the years of having to deal with wolves, I have learned just how prickly they can be especially when you start talking about their moon goddess, so I kept calm and took a deep breath before trying to continue with what I was saying. "Well, not all species of animal shifters believe that in fact, only the wolf shifters believe that. The majority of animal shifters believe that it was in fact the Greek gods and goddesses that blessed them with their powers which is why we have these superhuman abilities and gifts. It is believed that a different god blessed each of our first ancestors which is how we came to be."

"For the wolves, it was the goddess of the hunt and the moon the goddess Artemis. While the loin shifters believe that the sun god Apollo was the one who provided them with his blessing." Mia pressed her lips together as I spoke and the moment, I stopped she nodded her head before asking, "And which God do you believe created tiger shifters such as yourselves?" I smiled at her question as I am used to other wolves getting immediately defensive and dismissive when I bring this up, so I took it as a good sign. "Well, actually that is a really good question as there are many different beliefs or theories on that one but the most common is that it was actually the goddess, of life, Persephone. Although other people disagree with that thought but it is the most common and there are even paintings depicting her with tigers by her side, so it does have the most standing in tiger shifter folklore. Although there is no way to know for sure, but it does make the most logical sense, but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and thoughts."

"And why would that be the cause of the feud between our species?" I smiled at her questions feeling nostalgic almost like I was back in front of my students again and it was a nice feeling. "Well, there are many people and shifters who hate having their beliefs questioned and can feel threatened by it in fact which can lead to conflict. Which it is our belief that was in fact the reason behind the initial feud between our species and that belief is even supported by other species history books as well. Although there is no way to know for sure unless you were there thousands of years ago but that is impossible, so we only have these ancient texts to support our claims and ideals."
