(Author's note : Warning ! Lot of teasing in this chapter, and even a bit of Lemon... But still a lot of teasing, just to rinse the eye. Next chapter, I promise it'll be more interesting, promise and swear by it ! Good reading!)
WATER!
He inhaled a bit of that usually harmless liquid, which almost made him lose all of the air in his lungs. He looked around quickly, realizing that he was somewhere deep, filled with water. He then noticed something around his stomach, tugging him pretty harshly : a rope.
He raised his eyes toward its origins, leading over him. He couldn't see anything except a platform floating over the watery surface. Quickly, he grabbed the rope and began to pull himself up, while the individual up there did her best to pull too.
-Bll-bllllb-brrrrsh ! he cursed, as he was drawing in the last of his reserves.
More than two thirds of the way there, he was still trying to get up there despite his inability to swim. Before his mind became blank, the last thing he noticed was the dark sky dotted with stars... And then the human emerged from the depths.
-GHUUUUUuuuuuuh ! Keuf, keuf... Cough, kof kof!
-There, there, you're good...
He was stricken with convulsions, as he tried his best to not fall into the water again. After a moment, he realized that there were rocking movements, as if he wasn't on solid ground. Then he saw the ocean landscape around him, and the raft they were standing on.
-You... Kof, you found me ! I had a doubt that you wouldn't...
Vania chuckled a little, but quickly regained her coldness.
-When I started to miss you a few days ago, I thought I'd pay you a small visit. But when I saw my old weapon with your blood on it, I concluded that something had gone wrong.
-... And what about my apart-
-Oh yeah, this also was a big clue of how it went, but you know, I thought it was just you trying to renovate the tower...
-Ha-freaking-ha, very funny... Can we get to land?
-Sure, leave it to me.
With that said, she grabbed an oar and started paddling towards the beach. The water was very calm, motionless and beautiful under the moonlight. The raft sailed along without creating waves. In the distance, the tower was just a lit shadow. Kataklysm sat down and looked at the tower, then at Vania, who was still rowing.
-You know, there's something that I've been wanting to ask you for a while.
-Yeah, sure?
-When you... when THAT happened - I can't think of an appropriate term, you then went to my apartment to leave the blade on my table.
-... And?
-How did you know this was my apartment ? Were you spying on me?
-Not at all. It's just that knowing you were most likely working for the Queen, you wouldn't be sleeping at the castle, or in town. So the best place for a feared creature... would be the isolated tower where no one cared about.
-... Why are you telling me this?
-Oh, sorry, it's just the nostalgia kicking in...
-... Nostalgia ? What do you mean?
-I've lived there before.
An awkward silence greeted the shore. They made their way on the sand, pushing the raft on solid ground and sitting on it.
