Kataklysm's eyes twitched, even though Luna wasn't impressed in the slightest. She was standing there, leaning against the door beside an alarm button. She grinned, then left out casually :
-The tests weren't lying, after all. You are a human indeed.
-So what ? You think knowing what I am is going to stop me from beating the shit out of you?
-Whoa, now the big words ! Sorry, but this isn't the first time I've interacted with humans. Even though let's be honest... They should've not crossed my path.
Kataklysm felt a wave of anger pass over his head. She had information on humans, no doubt about it. He fidgeted with his fingers, preparing to make contact. The businesswoman noticed and shook her head.
-Tsk tsk tsk... It doesn't have to come to blows.
-If we're not here to fight, what do you want to do?
-Continue what I came here for.
-And what's that?
-Rob this place, of course.
With that, she walked along the right wall, watching the dates fly by. Finally, she stopped on one of the numbers and held up some kind of oscillating tool. She attacked the gap in the numbered box, frying the defense system from within. Kataklysm watched her do it, not letting his guard down.
-What are you looking for?
-Crispy stuff.
-What kind of stuff?
-Something to humiliate my financial and perhaps political adversaries. This place is a real goldmine, you can find anything here ! As long as you know what you're looking for.
Kataklysm looked at the date Luna was working on. 1275. He pointed to the box.
-What happened that year?
-Boring stuff. Scratch that, it's just the tip of the iceberg. I suffered a defeat that cost me a fortune at the time. Basically, I wanted to get into inter-kingdom trade, but customs wouldn't let it go. I had to give in if I didn't want to be slapped on the wrist by the Queens of both kingdoms. But now we'll see who has the last laugh!
-...
Splinters flew out of the gap in the box, but Luna's mask protected her. She glanced towards the door from time to time, hoping not to be spotted. Then she glanced at the human.
-And you, what brings you here?
Kataklysm tapped the box a few times, blowing his nose.
-Trying to get through. But I don't have the gear...
-Would you like some?
Kataklysm was surprised by this act of generosity, and nodded after a few seconds. Luna conjured up another tool and swung it at him. He caught it and replied, a little confused:
-Thanks?
-You're welcome. Think of it as a collaboration, nothing more, nothing less.
-By the way, is it normal for you to do the robbery yourself ? You could have used your money to hire a crew...
-Believe me, I've tried. But those cowards got scared of getting caught, and left, forcing me to look for myself. Too bad, they won't get paid.
Kataklysm quickly made the connection. It was highly unlikely that these mercenaries he met earlier were the same people that Luna tried to hire, but not impossible. He dismissed this thought, and examined the tool in his hand.
