Kataklysm tried to sleep despite some difficulties, for his head was tormented by so many unanswered questions. Of course, they were all focused on Kôrdina : is she still alive ? If so, how does she manage to survive ? He needed answers, but few people seemed to have them. Perhaps Gwain was one of them, but he couldn't just go and ask her - that would be too suspicious. But he could still ask random questions... just to see where it could take him.

There indeed were things he couldn't answer. However, there was one that was digging into his sanity, and he kept his eyes wide just thinking about it : Why 5 years ? As far as he knew, 60 months didn't make 13... Unless there's some bullshit like time dilation or something... For example, he thought, 60 ÷ 13 would give the number of months that would have passed on this planet compared to the figure of 1 month on Earth...

Kataklysm's POV

Bloody hell, it's enough to drive someone to madness... What's more, the information Deva had shared with me came a few weeks after Kôrdina's first appearance. So, logically, she stopped giving life signal after that. Probably all information about her had to be handled internally, so as not to alert the public even more. News of Kôrdina would surely have been left in abeyance, and people would have forgotten her...

All of them... Well, not all of them. There are probably people who would have information in addition to Gwain. Like, for example... Shayde ? Maybe that rude girl has a grudge against humans because she knew Kôrdina personally... If that's the case, I mustn't let her find out that I'm her brother!

I checked the little clock on the corner of my headset. 5:46, still got a bit of time ahead to regain some sleep. I took off the visor and put it on the desk to my left. My eyes were already falling asleep, without any effort. My mind became hazy, as I dozed off in a second...

CRASH!

I straightened up in bed, opening my eyes wide. What was that noise? It was coming from the corridor... I took off the blanket that was suffocating me, and put my feet on the floor. The door in front of me was wide open, yet I could have sworn I'd closed it. Crossing it, I saw the window overlooking the whole campus... smashed, with pieces of glass strewn around. It was still dark, and thunder rumbled in the distance. Was it lightning that destroyed my window? No, my eardrums would have burst if I'd been that close to a lightning strike.

On the floor, there were traces of water. They were heading for the kitchen, as if left by shoes. Carefully, I followed the puddles back to the source. The lights were off, and I felt around in the gloom for the light switch.

-Oh putain de- ! (-Oh fucking-!)

In front of me, in the corner of the room, there was the counter of the kitchen with one of the two seats occupied. On that seat, was that damn woman. She wasn't paying attention to me, with her forearms on the counter and her eyes partially hidden by her white hair looking in the void.

-Urgh, you scared the hell out of me... wait, hold on...

What was happening ? I'm in my apartment on Earth, I don't have to use my visor to see and she's right there... It could only mean one thing. I slowly made my way to the free seat, trying to not freak out by being so close to her. We stood there for a few seconds, saying nothing. Then I let out an annoyed sigh.

-That seat you're sitting on, I've done my best to make sure no one sits on it again. But you couldn't know that, could you? You're just a figment of my imagination, so you have no conscience. Neither do you have access to my memories, I said sarcastically.
