As Amber—no, Red—declared her war on the Bloodpack, the atmosphere in the village shifted. The air buzzed with tension and anticipation. The once sorrowful, defeated expressions of the pack members were replaced by feral grins and burning rage. I could feel the tension in my own chest, like an electric current running through my veins. These weren’t ordinary wolves or people—these were warriors, battle-hardened, ready to shed blood for the survival of their kind.
After Red’s rallying cry, she turned and began walking through the ruins of the village. Her posture was unyielding, her eyes locked forward, the embodiment of an Alpha. Her warriors fell into place behind her without question. Their devotion to her was palpable, like a force of nature. They would follow her into hell if that’s where she chose to lead them.
I followed too, matching her stride, still processing the weight of everything that had just unfolded. My body felt light, the adrenaline in my system keeping me alert, but my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. Mate. Luna. War. Everything was happening so fast. Only hours ago, I had no idea creatures like them even existed. And now I was walking beside one of their most powerful leaders, preparing for a war I’d somehow found myself entangled in.
*Ding*
[Host, your mate bond with Alpha Red has increased. The Luna role will grant you significant power and influence within the Moonlight Pack.]
‘Mate bond? Influence?’ I thought. ‘I didn’t sign up for this.’ But deep down, something in me had already accepted this new reality. The part of me that had awoken with the red markings—the part of me that now mirrored Red’s primal energy—was eager, hungry even, for battle.
We approached a large building at the center of the village, one of the few still standing. Inside, the Beta and a handful of other high-ranking wolves were already at work. Maps and scrolls covered a wide stone table, and the warriors who were gathered there were deep in discussion, their eyes glowing with anticipation.
The Beta, a tall, burly wolf with scars running across his arms and face, looked up as we entered. “My Alpha,” he said with a bow of his head, “we’ve prepared our forces. Seventy percent of our warriors are battle-ready, as you requested.”
Red nodded, her eyes scanning the map before her. “Good. We’ll hit them at dawn, when they least expect it. Our scouts reported that the Bloodpack has set up camp in the northern forest. They’re recovering, thinking we’re too weak to retaliate. That’s where we’ll strike.”
A murmur of approval rippled through the room, the warriors eager for bloodshed. Red’s eyes flicked toward me, as if gauging my reaction. I could feel her intense gaze, but I didn’t flinch. Instead, I leaned over the table, studying the map. It was hand-drawn, rough but detailed, marking the forest terrain and the location of the Bloodpack's encampment.
“What's their strength?” I asked, my voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside me.
The Beta responded, “They outnumber us, but their alpha is still recovering from his last battle. Without him, they’re vulnerable.”
Red grinned, a feral expression that sent shivers down my spine. “Then we’ll take advantage of that. Without their alpha, they’re leaderless. We hit hard and fast, take out their lieutenants, and send the rest scattering.”
Her confidence was infectious, and I found myself nodding in agreement. This wasn’t just her war anymore—it was mine too.
As the pack began making final preparations, Red pulled me aside, away from the others. Her eyes had softened, the warrior’s edge melting away for a moment. She reached out, her hand gently cupping my face.
“Are you ready for this?” she asked, her voice low. “War isn’t easy. I won’t let anything happen to you, but you need to be prepared.”
I held her gaze, feeling the weight of her words. There was a connection between us that I still didn’t fully understand, but it was undeniable. I could feel it thrumming through me, like an invisible thread tying me to her. The thought of battle didn’t scare me—it excited me, ignited something wild within me.
“I’m ready,” I said, and I meant it.
She smiled then, a small, private smile just for me. “Good. Stay close to me during the fight. We’ll tear them apart together.”
Before I could respond, the Beta approached, signaling that it was time. The warriors were gathered outside, lined up and ready. The air was thick with the scent of bloodlust and anticipation. Red and I stood at the front, and with one final, commanding roar, she led her pack toward the forest.

The journey to the Bloodpack’s camp was swift and silent. The Moonlight warriors moved like shadows through the trees, their senses heightened, their eyes glowing in the darkness. I could feel the energy of the pack around me, a collective force that surged through the night, unstoppable and lethal.
As we neared the edge of the forest, the sounds of the enemy camp reached us—low voices, the crackle of a fire. They had no idea we were coming. Red raised her hand, signaling for the pack to halt. Her eyes scanned the camp, calculating, predatory.
“Now,” she whispered, and in an instant, the Moonlight warriors sprang into action.
Chaos erupted in the Bloodpack’s camp as our warriors descended upon them. I followed Red, my senses sharp, my body moving with a speed and precision I hadn’t known I possessed. The red markings on my skin glowed faintly, pulsing in time with my heartbeat, as if feeding off the energy of the battle around me.
Red was a force of nature, cutting through the enemy ranks with terrifying efficiency. Her claws gleamed in the moonlight, her movements fluid and deadly. I stayed close, as she’d instructed, but I didn’t shy away from the fight. The primal energy inside me had fully taken over, and I fought alongside her, my body reacting on instinct.
The Bloodpack warriors were strong, but without their alpha, they were disorganized, overwhelmed by the ferocity of Red’s attack. One by one, they fell, and the few who tried to flee were quickly cut down by the rest of the Moonlight pack.
It was over in what felt like minutes. The Bloodpack had been decimated, their camp left in ruins. Red stood at the center of it all, her chest heaving, her eyes glowing with victory.
“We won,” she said, her voice filled with triumph.
I stepped beside her, looking out at the devastation we had wrought. The battle was over, but I knew this was only the beginning. The war between the packs had just begun.
