I was just walking towards my locker when someone slammed me against it. I was early so there weren't that many people at school yet. I looked at my attacker and my eyes widened in shock as I stared at Casey's furious face.
"What the hell were you doing with MY boyfriend?" I narrowed my eyebrows at her in confusion.
"What are you talking about?"
"A little birdy told me they saw you inviting Zack into your house. Mind telling me what that was about you little slut?" I gritted my teeth in anger. Of course. She probably new the pizza boy from last night. He looked big enough to be one of her jock friends.
"Zacks my friend. We hung out and that's it. Besides, he's your ex now. Who he hangs with is none of your concern. Now get your STD infected little ass away from me." She gasped and slapped me across the face, pinning me against the lockers.
"How DARE you! I can easily turn your life into a nightmare Daija Galvin. Don't you forget that." My face stung and I fought against her iron grip on my arms, eventually pushing her off of me. I gripped my hands into fists, ready to break her jaw, but then someone rushed over next to me and Casey backed off. It was Zack.
"Hello Casey," he said, using a deadly tone. "May I help you?"
She grabbed his hand, her eyes pleading.
"Zacky she was trying to hurt me!" He yanked his hand away from her and she stared at him in shock.
"Cut the crap Casey." She growled and her expression changed from shocked to angry within seconds.
"Excuse me? Are you defending her?"
"She's my friend. That's what friends do. You have friends, don't you?" Her lip twitched.
"Of course I do. Fine. Defend her. I'll make sure both of you go down." Zack ran his hand through his hair calmly and stepped towards her.
"Is that a threat?" She backed away and I smiled at the terror in her eyes.
"Yeah! But you can't do anything about it. My dad will have you in jail within seconds if you lay a finger on me!" He chuckled evilly and to be honest...it was extremely hot. He stared down at her and smiled.
"See the thing is, I don't have to do anything." She stared at him, anger and confusion written all over her face. He clapped his hands twice. Now it was my turn to look confused. I gasped and stood there in shock when Tasha snuck up from behind Casey and swung her fist to the side of her face. Her head was tossed side ways into the wall and she was knocked out cold. Zack grabbed my hand and we all ran away to homeroom before anyone noticed Casey's unconscious body. I started laughing halfway there and Tasha smiled at me. We plopped down into our seats and panted. I got up and hugged both of them. I noticed Zack held onto me a bit longer but I ignored it and smiled at him. "Thanks guys." They nodded.
"That's what we're here for." Tasha answered. I smiled at them again and we all turned to face the teacher as she walked in.
"Okay guys, I want everyone to stand up, take a deep breath, and prepare yourselves for what I'm about to tell you." Zack and Tasha turned and looked at me. I shrugged.
"Alrighty here goes. Guys...midterms start in a week." Groans erupted all around the classroom. The teacher raised her hands up to silence us. "I know, I know. But don't say I didn't warn you. Get plenty of sleep and no all nighters next week alright?" Everyone nodded in agreement. Zack turned to look at me, his eyes wide. Everything about his facial expression said one thing:
Crap. I giggled and twirled my finger at him so that he would turn around. He focused his attention on the teacher and I watched him nervously tapping his pencil on his desk.
"Don't stress guys. You've all been prepared for this and if you have a sucky memory like me, your teachers will be handing out notes and study guides as a treat. So study your notes." Sighs of relief spread around the room and I relaxed. Not that bad. Zack turned towards me and Tasha. "That's good right?" We nodded. He sighed and smiled. Tasha shook her head.
"Dum dum." I giggled and Zack went back to facing the front of the room, not hearing a word she said. Tasha looked over at me.
"We got this." She held out her hand for a high five and I smiled at her and gave her one. The bell rang signaling the start of morning announcements and I slumped in my seat taking a deep breath, ready to face the day.

Before I made it to my next class I was pulled over by Zack.
"Geez you walk fast," he panted. I laughed.
"What's up?"
"Well generally the sky, at the moment it's the ceiling of the school building. But I ran over here to ask if you wanted to study together after school. I could really use your help."
"Sure. Library?"
"Its closed all week. Parking lot is getting paved again."
"Oh. Well how about my place?" He smiled brightly.
"Yeah sure! If that's cool with you and your mom. Is it?" I nodded. His smile widened and I felt myself blushing like crazy.
"So um. Yeah I have to get to class. Do you need a ride or do you just wanna meet up there?"
"Oh I'm good we can just meet at your place. Need help carrying anything in?" I stared down at the binder in my hand.
"Nope. Think I've got it. See ya."
"Oh, see ya. Have a good class." I raised an eyebrow up at him.
"Uhm. Thanks. You too." I walked into my classroom and fought down my smile.
