I woke up to the familiar feeling of rope cutting into my wrists, an explosive headache, and an immense pain in my mouth. My gums were swollen to about three times their regular size. Everything slowly came back to me. I recalled the pain of getting my teeth ripped out forcefully, then getting slapped and punched. I spat out a big glob of blood that had collected in my mouth while I was unconscious, and turned my head in the general direction of my friends.

"So what happened this time?" I asked. I heard Tasha cough, then sigh and adjust her seating position.

"He said he didn't have the strength to torture us right now, so he was going to get some help. Not sure what that means and we don't intend to find out, so Crystal and I started making an escape plan. She's working on the ropes right now." I turned in Crystal's direction and listened closely. She was softly growling and her growls were followed by the sound of something ripping.

"Crystal, whatcha doin?"

"Chewing through these ropes, what does it look like I'm doing?"

"Well golly I don't know. I can only see the wall right now. Unless you happen to have like chameleon powers and I've actually been staring at you this whole time then-"

"Oh put a sock in it Daija." I closed my mouth slowly and rested my head against the metal pole and let the cool metal ease the pain in my head. I was too tired to make any smart remarks.

"Hey," Tasha said from next to me, "if you have the energy to talk, you have the energy to fight. When Crystal gets these ropes undone, take the knife in my boot. You've gotten the closest to killing this guy, so it makes no sense for me to have a weapon. I barely made a scratch..." She sounded sad, no, defeated. I felt the ropes slowly falling into my lap as Crystal chewed through them with her fangs. Crystal came over to me and started gnawing at the ropes around my wrists. I closed my eyes, unable to watch as her monstrous fangs went to work so close to my skin.

"Geez relax. I'm not gonna bite you." And she didn't. The second I was free from my ropes I went over to Tasha. She stuck her boot out to me and I reached my hand down and felt the smooth leather handle of the blade as I tugged it out. I looked up at Tasha's face...her eyes were avoiding mine. I could see the dark bruise forming on her swollen cheek and how her hands stayed close to her stomach. Was it still hurting that bad? I placed my hand on the both of hers, causing her to look up at me.

"Don't start with that 'I barely made a scratch' bull. You were awesome! I only got close to it because you were there, fighting. Don't you dare think I could easily defeat that thing without you." She stared at me, her eyes wide. I grabbed her tied hands and pushed them in Crystals direction. "Start on her ropes please," I said, only adding in the 'please' to make myself sound less demanding.

"You really mean that?" Tasha asked. I looked her in the eyes with a serious expression, placing my hands on either side of her face and saying: "Yes. One-hundred percent." The second Crystal made a tear in her ropes, Tasha tugged them apart and wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm sorry," she whispered in my ear. "I'm sorry for ruining things, I'm sorry for giving It your location just because It had my mom, I'm sorry for being a burden..." she sunk her head into my shoulder and I held her close, squeezing her tight and whispering: "shut up," right back. She laughing lightly and gave me a final squeeze before letting me go.

"What, so I don't get any love? Geez you guys are cold hearted," Crystal muttered. Tasha and I both tackled her at the same time. She laughed and pushed us off quickly. "Moment over. That guy could be coming back soon so we gotta hurry. What's the plan?" Crystal looked over at me and so did Tasha. I glanced at the candles in the room and the knife in my hand.

"Well, how about this... "

Monsters POV

Those pathetic little children think they can get to me? Me? I thought to myself as I stormed out of my torture chamber and out into the tunnels. If they would just cooperate and get my son back, this would be so much easier! Oh how blissful that was, hearing that pathetic Daija girl screams as I ripped her teeth out. I licked some of her blood from my fingers. Delicious. Human blood was quite a marvelous creation. Maybe killing them off would be less fun. Torture was quite entertaining. I stared at the gun in my hand, gripping it tight. No, I thought. Zachary would be angry with me. I need him on my side, so a quick death will have to do.
Something caught my attention as I was preparing to leave. I stroked the broken moose antlers on my table and smiled to myself. My smile only grew as I recalled my successful mission. The girl had been wounded by my infected moose, therefore, my venom was already at work in her system. I decided to give it a test. I sighed as the sensation of my claws sliding out further and further ran up my arm, and brought them to my bald head. Without hesitation, I slid my claws down on my head and stopped when I heard a scream. It forced an even larger smile onto my face and I licked my hungry lips, heading back to the room where I left them to see how my new pet was reacting. Excitement coursed through my veins and I quickened my pace.

Daija's POV

We were pretending we were tied up by wrapping rope around our stomachs and everything was fine, until my head suddenly exploded in pain.

"GAAHH!" I cried out as unbearable pain surged into my head, nearly knocking me unconscious. I threw Tasha's knife over to her and gripped my head in my hands. It felt like Satan was raking his fiery claws across my brain. I couldn't fight a fly in my condition.

"Daija!" Tasha and Crystal shouted in unison.

"Don't worry about me. Stay calm or the plan won't work."

"Screw the plan are you okay?"

"I'm alive," I said through gritted teeth. "Chill out." The door creaked open and Tasha stood up, grabbing her knife off of the floor.

"Dammit," Crystal muttered under her breath. My head throbbed. I tried to stand up but Tasha started yelling and pain slammed into my head, knocking me off balance. I gripped onto the pole, forcing myself to stand up and walk to her.
"You think you can just go hurting whoever you like!? Do you really think I'm gonna let you live after hurting my friends?" she yelled at the monster as he stood there in the door frame, a hand behind his back. "Think you can just take away our parents and get away with it? You're going to die today you sick bastard!" The creature chuckled, angering her even more. "Who do you think you're laughing at you ugly mother-" I placed a hand on her shoulder as she started to walk forward and held onto my head as I swayed slightly.

"Tasha...calm down sweetheart," I spoke with difficulty. "You're making my...head..hurt." I swayed again and Tasha held onto me, her knife still raised at the monster in front of us. He chuckled and brought out the gun from behind him. I stared at it with wide eyes and Tasha froze stiff. He waved the gun in the direction of the tunnels and said "walk" through gritted teeth. Crystal came up next to me and wrapped my arm around her neck to help me walk, giving the monster a look the whole time. Crap.
