JUST ONE MORE CHANCE

chapter 2

FREEN'S POV

       Teacher Taw came at sharp 9:00 am. Our first period is English. I'm sitting beside Becky and my heart is beating very fast. I didn't dare to look at her but I can sense that she is staring at me.

       Calm down Freen, calm down! She is just your friend. Why are you so nervous??

       I slowly turned my head towards her and saw she was already looking at me.

       "Hi Freen" she said smiling.

        Oh my God!! Her smile.... It's as bright as the sun. Her beautiful eyes are as deep as the Pacific Ocean and her face..... is as calm as the moon....

       "Freen? Are you okay?"she asked bringing me out of my thoughts.

       "Y-yes, hi B-becky"I said nervously.

       "But you look so tensed. Did something happen?" She asked worriedly.

       "No Becky, nothing happened. I'm really okay"I replied and tried to smile.

      "Umm ok." She paused for a moment and said "Freen, would you like to come over to my house and watch a movie tonight?"

       "A movie? But suddenly??"I asked confusedly. She doesn't usually ask me for a movie night or sleep over at her place.

       "Yes, you know my dad is going out of town with your dad for some business matters. And Richie is also not here, so it's only me and my mom at home tonight. That's why I thought we could watch a movie together. Will you come please?" She asked with her puppy eyes.

        Her dad and my dad are business partners, so they often go to many places together for business. But I'm thinking something else... Why did she suddenly ask me for a movie?? And my mom also won't be home tonight so I need to ask her first.

        "Ohh okay. But I need to ask my mom first, Bec. If she allows me I'll definitely go." I replied with a smile.

        "Yayyy! Thank you Freen." She said with excitement and I couldn't help but smile again looking at her.

        "Btw, aren't our friends also coming?"I asked

        "No, just the two of us" she replied. And that got me even more confused. We did have a few movie nights before but it was either Nam or Tee's house and we all friends were together. But this time it's Becky's house and just the two of us???

        "Huh? Ummm.. just you and me?" I asked again and she just nodded.

        "Okay! I'll ask my mom and let you know" I said and turned my focus to Miss Taw.

        After 45 mins our class ended and teacher left. So now we all are talking about anything and everything.

       Suddenly Heng said," Guys let's go to a club tonight. There is a new club near my house. It will be really fun."

       "But we never went to any club before you know that right?" Said Nam.

       "That's why I'm asking you all to go. It will be fun, trust me." Said Heng.

        While I was thinking what to say, Becky said to Heng," Sorry Heng, Freen and I have something important to do tonight so we can't go" and then she look at me. I don't know what to say so I just kept quiet.

        "Something important?? Without us??" Nam said suspiciously looking at us.

        "Yes, we need to finish some task" said Becky. But she didn't say anything about the movie, so I thought she wanted to keep it a secret. That's why I also didn't say anything.

        Few hours past and it's lunch time now. So we all are now sitting in the cafetaria, having our lunch and talking. But I'm looking at Becky and still thinking what to do. Should I go to her house? But why am I even nervous? She is my friend and I have been to her house before so why am I nervous this time?

        While I was lost in my thoughts Nam called me "Freen? Freen??"

       "Y-yes Nam. What happened?" I said.  And I saw everyone is looking at me including Becky.

       "You seemed lost. What were you thinking huh?" Asked Nam.

       "Nothing important. Btw what were you saying?" I asked her.

       "I was saying that our summer vacation  is coming soon, so I thought if we could go for a trip" she said.

        "Trip?? But where?" I asked confusedly.

         "Somewhere at the beach" said Becky looking at me with those beautiful eyes and here is my heart beating fast again.

         Stupid heart!! Just stop beating so fast otherwise I'll have a heart attack!!

        "Yeah that's a good idea. But at which beach we should go?" Said Tee.

        "What about Phuket?" Suggested Irin.

       "We will think about that later. Now let's go to our classroom. Lunch time is already over" said Heng. And we all headed to our class.
