Little bird, little bird

Why did you let them get so close to your heart?

Couldn't you tell they were going to tear you apart?

Little bird, little bird

You have the thinnest little skin

So you keep your feelings very deep within.

Little bird, little bird

Don't let them see you break

There's only so much their "skills" can take.

Little bird, little bird

I see you carry that hurt

But please just remember you have so much worth.

Little bird, little bird

I tried to protect you

But the forces they had only just grew.

Little bird, little bird

We're in this together

With each of our own hardships to weather.

Little bird, little bird

My body grows weaker

My mind and my soul will now start to teeter.

Little bird, little bird

Please don't be mad?

This world has really made me way too sad.

Little bird, little bird

I know I'm not there

But with it all going down, I hate what is here.

Little bird, little bird

The days grow darker

I don't think this earth will keep me much longer.

Little bird, little bird

You'll no longer see me

Ya see? I left this earth around three.

Little bird, little bird

I know you're sad

But do remember, I no longer feel bad.

Little bird, little bird

These things do happen

So take it not as pain, but as a lesson.

Little bird, little bird

You can grow and you can change

But your courage, little bird, they'll never take.

Little bird, little bird
