Despite the tight deadline, Cielle was able to submit on time. She thought it was made a lot easier with Koen's help. His responses are what she exactly need — fully furnished. Thus, there's no need for her to fabricate any information just to make her report project convincing and reliable.
It's been like 4 days already since that amusing interview. She had been too busy with her academics and drifted away from the world.
As Cielle reviewed their email exchanges, she noticed how her curiosity about Koen's professional life had transformed into a genuine interest in seeing him again. To her, Koen's intelligence and demeanor were increasingly captivating.
Cielle sat at her desk, crafting a message to Koen. She knew she wanted to see him again but needed a good reason beyond just wanting to chat. Inspired by her academic interests and the rapport they had established, she decided to frame her request as an academic opportunity.
— Cielle (typing):
Hi Mr. Davies,
I hope you're doing well. I've been working on the final draft of my report, and I find myself needing a bit more insight into some of the legal precedents you mentioned during our interview. If you're available, I'd love to meet again to discuss these aspects further. I believe your perspective could greatly enhance the depth of my analysis. Looking forward to your response!
Best regards,
Cielle Flordelis DelfinAfter hitting send, Cielle felt a twinge of guilt but also a surge of excitement. She hoped Koen would be willing to meet up again.
"Let's call it a night" Cielle said as she closed her Macbook and lie flat on her bed. "Congratulations self for surviving your first ever Journal Reporting."
A smile painted in Cielle's face with a sense of completion & pride as she slowly closed her eyes and summoned the call of beauty rest.
The next day, Cielle was in her journalism classroom, waiting for their professor to arrive. As usual, the students were chatting and catching up on their work. Cielle, on the other hand, was eagerly refreshing her email inbox, her heart racing with anticipation.
Suddenly, she saw Koen's reply pop up on her screen. Her eyes widened in excitement as she quickly opened the email.
Cielle reading aloud, "Hi Cielle, I'm glad to hear from you. I'd be happy to discuss the legal aspects further. Let's meet at Café Bella this Friday afternoon. Looking forward to it!"
Unable to contain her joy, Cielle let out a loud shout of happiness.
"Yes! He agreed! We're meeting at Café Bella this Friday!"
Her best friend, Amanda, who was sitting next to her, jumped in surprise and stared at Cielle with wide eyes. "Whoa, what's going on? Why are you so excited?"
Cielle blushing and stammering, "Oh, um, it's just... I got a reply from the lawyer I interviewed. He's agreed to meet me again to discuss about my report. I'm just really excited about it."
Amanda looked at her, puzzled. "Wait, what report? I thought it was already done. Did something more happen?"
Cielle's blush deepened, her anxiety about the situation now visibly apparent. "Well, it's not exactly finished, for my... own knowledge? I, um, wanted to get more insights for it. And..."
"And— ?" Amanda raising an eyebrow and teasing, "I think there's more to this excitement than just a report. Are you sure it's only about the academic stuff?"
