"HAH! 3 spades in numerical order. I get to choose whose cards to switch with mine! Let's see... how about you, Mercury!" I exclaim. With his hand of cards, i'll definitely be able to win this round.

"What. Aw man, and I had such a good deal too," Mercury sullens. This is all going according to plan. We switch cards and his are just so good!

"Well how about THIS!" Venus exclaims putting down a two of diamonds: the absolute best card for an immediate win, killing my plan immediately.

"Good game you guys!" Mercury says while going back to his orbit. "I gotta go, just so the sun doesn't solar flare us all." Fair point. We all wave him goodbye. A tad bit after he left, my earthlings start to act up. It's like something's going to happen. Yeah probably not. Hopefully.

"Hey, do you guys have an ominous feeling about, let's say, the next couple of hours?" I ask.

"No. You, uh, you ok, Earth?" Venus answers.

"Yeah, that's kind of weird and foreboding, Earth. Does it have something to do with your earthlings?" Mars responds.

"Never mind! It's probably something my earthlings are doing. Probably. Oh! There's Luna. I'm gonna head back to my orbit! Bye!" I leave to go and meet back up with Luna. When I asked him about how his moon club meeting went, he talked all about their game of tag with the little moons. Or that's what I think he's saying. The earthlings keep on mumbling about moving out of some places and some kind of "gravitational keyhole" or something. To be honest, it's really kind of distracting. I mean it's probably nothing. Isn't it?

"-And then Triton totally cheated. I mean, he's the fastest moon, there's no way he's allowed to be 'it' you know?" Luna finished. "Anyway, how was your game of cards with the others?" I offer no response. I was too busy trying to figure out what my earthlings were doing. "EARTH?" I jumped, Luna continued. "Are you ok? Is it the earthlings again."

"Kind of. They're just acting up. I'm sure it's just nothing." I respond before adding, "all of their yapping and moving is a bit tiring, though. I think i'll just take a quick little nap. See you when I wake up Luna?"

"See you when you wake up, Earth." And with those words from Luna, I go ahead and fall asleep in my orbit.

All of a sudden, a very loud bang echo's throughout the solar system, like someone got hit with an asteroid. It was definitely loud enough to hear it in the kuiper belt if not to wake me up. Right after I woke up, some planet started to scream.

In my post nap grogginess, I looked around. Luna started to say something, but I couldn't really hear him. Everything was just muffled. Maybe if whoever's wailing just stops I could probably hear him. He got scared all of a sudden and looked out to call for someone.

All of a sudden Mars is in my orbit? And can someone just shut the planet screaming up already?

I blank out for a second and now Mercury and Venus are in my orbit too? And the screaming continues. Did I say how annoying the screaming is, cause it really is.

Wait. What's that sensation on my surface? It's feels like it's burning a bit. It feels like an asteroid hit it.

Oh.

Oh.

It's me that's screaming. It's me who got hit by that asteroid. It's me Luna, Mars, Mercury, and Venus are worried about. My voice goes hoarse, and I stop screaming.

"EARTH?? ARE YOU OK??" Mercury yells. I can finally hear something other than my own screaming for once.

"We've tried getting him to respond for a while pipsqueak. It won't work." Venus refutes.

"My life." I croak out. "How are my earthlings?" It's the only thing I can think about.

"Oh so now he responds."

"Shut up, Venus." Luna buts in, "Earth. How are you feeling. Do you feel any pain?"

"How are my earthlings." I repeat.

"Earth, your earthlings will be alright. But we don't know if you will be alright. Can you tell us how you feel?" Mars adds.

I sigh in preemptive relief. My earthlings will be alright. Hopefully. They can handle many things. Sometimes. But I shouldn't think on that for too long. Thinking about my earthlings will only make me spiral. "Its warm. I'm tired," is what i'm able to mumble out. I'm starting to get tired again.

"Uh, he looks a little loopy, Mars. Are you sure we shouldn't get Jupiter?" Mercury asks, concern laden on his face.

"If things get worse we can get him. For now, let's just watch Earth," Mars responds. That's the last of what I hear before I fall asleep once again.

i tried to base this off of 99942 Apophis, an asteroid passing by the earth in 2029 that had a chance to pass through a gravitational keyhole and collide with the earth in 2036 but upon further research the keyhole doesn't exist anymore so i had to go to my backup plan : 101955 Bennu! This asteroid has a chance to pass through another gravitational keyhole in 2135 that will lead it to hit the earth in 2182. so nothing we have to worry about!! maybe 🤩

i also know next to nothing about writing angst so i truly do hope this is satisfactory!
