juniper woke up to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains of her apartment. she blinked a few times, her mind slowly registering the warm, comforting weight of jack's arm draped across her waist. a smile tugged at her lips as she turned her head slightly to see him still asleep beside her, his face relaxed and peaceful, his hazel curls splayed across the dainty flower print pillowcase.

for a moment, she just lays there, soaking in the quiet intimacy of the moment. the events of the previous night—the premiere, the excitement, and the electricity between them—felt like a dream. but this, waking up next to jack, was very much real.

not wanting to wake him, juniper carefully slipped out of bed, grabbing jack's t-shirt that was discarded on the floor from last night's activities, and put it on. it was way too big on her, but she didn't care. she padded softly into the kitchen, deciding to make them breakfast.

as she started pulling out ingredients for pancakes, she heard the soft rustle of sheets and gentle footsteps, and turned to see jack standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame with a sleepy smile on his face.

juniper tried to ignore the warm feeling in her chest at the sight of a shirtless jack. his grey sweats hung low on his hips, the sight making her legs weak.

"morning," he murmured, his voice still rough from sleep.

"morning," juniper replied, her smile widening. "hope you're hungry. i'm making pancakes."

jack's grin grew as he walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her from behind and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "you're too good to me, you know that?"

juniper laughed softly, leaning back into his embrace. "i just want to make sure you stick around."

"i'm not going anywhere," jack whispered, his breath warm against her ear. he tightened his hold on her for a moment before letting her go and moving to help with breakfast. "what can i do?"

"you can start on the bacon," juniper suggested, turning back to the pancake batter.

they moved around the kitchen together, their movements comfortable and in sync. it felt natural, like they had been doing this for years instead of just a few days. every so often, their hands would brush, or one would sneak a kiss from the other, filling the kitchen with laughter and warmth.

as they were finishing up, juniper's phone buzzed on the counter. she picked it up, seeing hayley's name on the screen.

"it's hayley," she said, glancing at jack before answering. "hey, hayls!"

"juni!" hayley's voice was excited, almost breathless. "you're not going to believe this, but 'espresso' has literally broken the internet! it's trending everywhere—twitter, tiktok, you name it. the music video hit a million views within hours, and is currently on TEN MILLION! this is huge!"

juniper's eyes widened in surprise and delight. she quite literally couldn't believe it. "wait, are you serious?"

"dead serious! you need to come by the office later today so we can go over everything. this is is only starting, juniper. you're blowing up!"

juniper glanced at jack, who was watching her with a curious smile. "okay, sure. uh, how about we meet for lunch instead? can i bring jack along if that's cool?"
