Two days later, Juniper found herself on a plane to Venice, sitting beside Jack, who was fast asleep with his head resting on her shoulder, his curls tickling the side of her face. She glanced out the window, watching as the clouds drifted by beneath them. For the first time in what felt like forever, she wasn't thinking about work or deadlines or the pressure of living up to expectations. She was just... being. And it felt amazing.

When they arrived in Venice, the city took her breath away. The canals, the architecture, the way the sunlight reflected off the water—it was like stepping into another world. Jack had booked them a small, cosy villa overlooking one of the quieter canals, far away from the busy tourist spots. It was perfect.

The first few days in Venice were blissful. They wandered through the narrow streets, stopping at little cafés for coffee and pastries, taking boat rides through the canals, and eating dinner at candlelit restaurants that felt like they were hidden from the rest of the world. Jack kept his promise—there was no talk of work, no pressure to do anything other than enjoy each other's company.

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the canals of Venice. Juniper and Jack had spent the entire day exploring the narrow cobblestone streets, weaving through the ancient alleys and indulging in gelato from a small café they had found tucked away from the tourist-heavy areas. Now, as the evening descended, they found themselves on a quiet gondola ride, drifting lazily along the water.

Juniper leaned back against Jack's chest, his arms wrapped snugly around her waist. The gentle rocking of the boat, paired with the soothing sounds of the gondolier singing softly in the distance, made everything feel like a dream. She felt safe in his arms, and as the boat glided under a small stone bridge, the magic of the moment wasn't lost on her. Venice felt like another world, like a place where time didn't exist, and all that mattered was the present moment.

"This is perfect," Juniper whispered, resting her head against Jack's shoulder.

Jack's lips brushed her temple, his voice soft and affectionate. "Yeah, it really is. I don't think I've ever seen you this relaxed."

She laughed softly, tilting her head up to look at him. "I feel like I'm finally able to breathe. Everything's just... quiet here. It's like we're the only two people in the world."

Jack smiled down at her, his eyes twinkling with warmth. "That's because we kind of are right now. We're literally the main characters."

They both laughed, the sound echoing off the canal walls as the gondola took a gentle turn. The water shimmered beneath them, reflecting the vibrant colors of the sunset. The world seemed to slow down, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Juniper wasn't thinking about her career, her music, or the whirlwind of fame. She was just Juniperhere with Jack, in a place that felt far removed from the chaos of their lives.

As they drifted along the water, Juniper shifted in Jack's arms so she could look up at him fully. She traced the line of his jaw with her fingers, studying his face like she was seeing it for the first time. The way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, the stubble on his chin from a day spent exploring—everything about him felt familiar and comforting.

"You're really something, you know that?" she murmured, her voice laced with affection.

Jack raised an eyebrow, smirking a little. "Oh yeah? What's that supposed to mean?"
