Sakusa comes back to your office, closing the door behind him quietly. "I got you food."
You don't even spare him a glance. "You didn't have to."
"Yes, I did. You need to eat, but you weren't going to make plans for food tonight. You should eat at least two full meals a day, but you barely do that. I've seen your breakfast and lunch. I wouldn't consider either of those proper meals."
"It gets me through the day, so it's good enough."
He sighs, sitting on your desk, bag of food in hand. "If I need to feed you myself, I will do it."
You roll your eyes, not caring that he could see. "Whatever."
"You asked for it." He opens the bag, pulling out containers of food. He opens the main dish, grabbing the proper utensils for it and picking up some food. "Open your mouth."
You continue typing, but open your mouth. Your eyes widen when you recognize the taste against your tongue. "This is part of (favorite meal)."
"I know. I got it for you specifically."
You turn away from your laptop, looking into his eyes. "You really did that for me?"
He nods. "Of course."
"Thanks." You stand up, kissing him briefly. You sit back down, allowing him to feed you as you work.
Sakusa watches you, a soft smile on his face. For some reason, unknown to him, he felt comfortable around you. And physical affection felt almost natural to him. Sure, it's only been almost two weeks since he first met you, almost a week since this pact was made, but he was growing fond of you. He wouldn't say he's in love, at least not yet. It might be too soon for something like that. He was at least getting more comfortable with you, enough to the point where he wasn't too bothered by skin contact.
He throws away all the trash once you ate everything, sitting back on your desk. "You're quite interesting, you know that?"
"How so?"
"You can be so focused on work, but get along with people around you even if they interrupt your work. Not to mention, you work harder than anyone else I know. You take so much time out of your personal life to work, making sure you get the best books out on time for release."
You shrug. "It's not that big a deal. " You pause, remembering a thought you had earlier. "Which of my books did you like best, like the genre?"
"Why do you ask?"
You turn your head, looking into his eyes. "It was a thought I had earlier."
Sakusa hums, looking away from you for a few seconds. "I don't really have a favorite. I like them all. I think I just like everything you write. Something about it is comforting and just absolutely delightful to read."
You hum, slowly looking back at your screen to continue working. "I guess I shouldn't have expected something specific from you."
He leans over, trying to get a look at your screen. "What are you writing now?"
"It's a romance novel."
"Is there gonna be sex in it?" He scrunches his nose, not looking forward to the possiblity of reading sex scenes.
You shake your head. "No way. I'm one of the rare authors that make books for people of most ages. If I put sex in it, I wouldn't be marketing to my teenage readers anymore."
The outside hitter returns his face back to a neutral expression. "What's the plot about?"
"A girl meets a volleyball player for the first time, and almost immediately falls in love with him. He knew her back in school, but never talked to her."
"Does he like her?"
You nod. "Quite a bit. But I'm trying to work on how to build up their relationship. They just meet by chance after a game, and they end up running into each other through chance encounters. It'll get to the point where he'll ask for her number, so he can contact her to try seeing her more often. She's also gonna initiate some of their 'dates', but she's more shy about it."
He leans closer, trying to read some of the words on the screen. "Interesting. And when will this be coming out?"
"Within the next three months."
"I'll buy it the moment it comes out."
You freeze, slowly turning your head to look at him. "You're interested in it?"
Sakusa looks into your eyes. "Of course. I buy and read all of your books, this won't be an exception." He grins. "Maybe I can try endorsing your books during my next interview."
You turn back to your screen, a small smile forming on your face. "Do what you want."
He backs away, looking fondly at you. "I will. Once we start going public about our relationship, I mean more than we already have, I bet it will get both of us plenty of attention."
"Aren't you worried about possible scandals?"
"Not really. This isn't even a scandal, unless someone figures out that our relationship is fake. As far as anyone would know, this is just a celebrity couple."
You hum, typing away on your laptop. "I guess you're right. Should we even be talking about our pact in public places, like my office?"
Sakusa crosses his legs. "This office is soundproof, and there's no one around. As long as we're careful about it, there shouldn't be any problems."
You furrow your brows. "How do you know it's soundproofed?"
"I have my ways. You don't need to know everything about me, since this isn't real."
You release an exhale slightly loud, just enough for him to hear. "Fine. I won't question it. Just know this means I can keep secrets from you as well."
He quickly dismisses your words. "Does your family know about me yet?"
"I haven't had the chance to contact them. I'm kinda busy, in case you haven't noticed."
The outside hitter frowns at your statement. "You should hurry and tell them before my practice tomorrow."
You slowly turn to him, confusion written all over your face. "Why?"
"I'm gonna be making an announcement online."
