You sigh as you walk to your office first thing in the morning. You didn't sleep well last night, considering you were worried about Sakusa. Even when he's busy, he'd been making time for you every day. And now, you have to contact him first just to check in on him. It's only been two days, this being the third day he's skipped out on trying to spend the morning with you. You already doubted that he'd come after his practice, most likely saying he's "busy" again.
As you approach your office door, you look up from the ground to see a certain intern standing with a cup of (favorite coffee) in his hand. You smile, walking right up to the man. "Hey, Katsuki. Coffee for me?" You start unlocking your office.
Katsuki smiles. "Of course. You always come in so early, it seemed like this would be exactly what you'd need."
"Well, thank you. I greatly appreciate it. I'm guessing you don't have much work at the moment?"
He shakes his head. "Not right now. Do you need something?"
You walk into your room, signalling for him to follow you. "I would just like some company for a little while. Until you're given some tasks, why not stay in here with me while I work?"
The redhead takes a seat on the couch. "I thought you didn't like people being in here while you work?"
You sigh as you sit in your chair at the desk. "I used to hate it, but now I feel like there should be one person in here with me. I seem to work a little better when I have a person to bounce ideas off of and get inspiration from."
"Ah, well, I can stay as long as you'd like! This'll make it easier to get you anything you need."
You nod, turning on your computer to start the day. "So, Katsuki, why did you start working here?"
He blushes, looking at the ground. "Well, I've been a fan of your work since you first published. I remember getting your first book the day it released. I looked up to you so much, that I wanted to follow your path."
You quirk a brow in curiosity. "You're going to become a writer?"
Katsuki shakes his head. "No, I don't have the talent for writing. I could never be anywhere near as good as you, no matter how hard I try. But, I wanted to work here, even if it's just as an intern. I wouldn't mind becoming a proof reader, or an editor, or something."
"I see. Well, I wish the best for you. It'd be nice to see you get promotions." Your focus remained on the screen, beginning to type away. You start adding more detail to the chapter you're working on, building up the characters even more.
His blush darkens. "Th-thank you so much, L/n-san."
Your eyes don't leave the screen. "It's no problem, really. I think you're a good employee. You've been very helpful these past few days."
"You're so amazing. It's no wonder you're in a relationship."
You freeze, your fingers hovering over the keyboard. You slowly turn your head, looking over at the intern. "What makes you say that?"
Katsuki flusters. "Ah, well, I mean - you're just a good person. It makes sense that someone likes you enough to wanna be more intimate with you. I heard so many rumors floating around since first working here. Things like Sakusa-san akways kissing you and bringing you stuff whenever he comes to visit, which was pretty much everyday. And then the picture he put online when he announced your relationship. I never saw it, but from what I know, it shows you two cuddling in bed together. Is - is that true?"
You hang your head, ashamed that people still remember that. "It was a long day at work when he took that. I was so tired, I kinda just let him take a pic of that. I was so tired, it came as a surprise to me when I saw it."
The intern hums, sitting back on the couch. "If you were so tired, why would he take the picture? Shouldn't he have known that you weren't in the right state of mind to consent to that?"
You narrow your eyes at him. "Where are you going with this?"
"Wouldn't a good boyfriend know when to do or not do something? I mean, if I were him, I wouldn't have done that unless you were wide awake and knew for a fact that you'd be ok with that."
Your eyes widened, surprised by his words. You never thought Sakusa did anything wrong, you even understood him pretty well. This was the first time that you got a different perspective on it. "Well... I wouldn't really know. This is kind of my first relationship."
Katsuki's eyes widened. "Really? Sakusa-san is your first relationship?"
You nod, feeling shy all of a sudden. You never told a soul about this, the only people that knew were your parents and Sakusa himself. "Well, yeah. I never really had the time for it before, and I never really wanted one. Then Sakusa asked me out after I finished collecting information on the article I wrote for it just over a month ago. I didn't have much reason to say no, so I just went along with it."
He looks at the floor. "I see. If it had been anyone else, would you have done the same thing? Would you date anyone that asked you to be theirs?"
You hum, looking back at your screen and return to typing. "I don't know. Maybe. I probably would've said yes if I was offered the same thing he offered me."
The redhead bites his bottom lip, holding his hands together. "Is that so?" He lowers his voice so you can't hear. "So if that had been me, you would've said yes."
You blink. "Yeah, I guess that's about right. I mean, if I'm offered something that'll benefit me, then I can't really turn it down."
"What did he offer you?"
You hesitate, knowing you couldn't say the truth. So, you come up with a believeable lie. "He offered to make me happy and treat me as if I'm the only person in the whole world."
"I think most people would offer that. Personally, I'd treat the person I date like a deity. They'd be the only one in my eyes, and I'd give them all of me. I'd do anything and everything for them." He chuckles nervously. "Uh, sorry. I'm rambling."
You shake your head, a small smile on your face as you memorize those words. You'd use them in your novel for one of the characters at some point. "That's really sweet. I bet you'll make someone very happy one day."
He murmurs low enough that you wouldn't be able to hear him. "I could do all that for you if you ever gave me a chance."
