3:50 AM

It seemed like time had stopped. For both Y/n and Seungcheol.

She kept rustling around in her bed, but nothing seemed to work. She stood up and walked to the kitchen to get some water. As she walked towards the kitchen, she saw some lights that were left on.

She assumed the members forgot to turn it off, or maybe it's supposed to be on in case someone wants water or maybe it just doesn't turn off.

However, she assumed wrong. Someone was in the kitchen, and he wasn't wearing a shirt. He was shirtless and in sweatpants. He was making caffeine free tea.

She could recognize his back from miles away, those scars, those bruises, the structure, the muscles. It was all too familiar.

She hated the feeling yet loved it and even missed it.

As she continued walking towards him, he turned around, stopping her in her track.

Their gaze locked. It was silent, complete silence. It wasn't uncomfortable or awkward but rather calm.

"Your tea." She broke the silence.

"My tea?" He asked, confused.

"Your tea. It's gonna get cold." She repeated herself, pointing at it and breaking their gaze.

"Oh, thanks." As he brought the tea to his lips, Y/ns gaze followed. Her eyes fell onto his lips, and he noticed as he took a sip.

"Eye contact." He put the tea down.

"Eye contact." She repeated as she locked her eyes with him again.

Silence fell onto the room, yet again. This time, it felt familiar. It felt safe.

"Do you want tea?" He broke the silence.

"Oh sure, is it caffeine free?" She asked

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep, so I thought tea would calm me down and warm me up." He broke their gaze and opened up the cabinet to get her a cup for the tea.

"Why couldn't you sleep? What's on your mind?" She asked as she sat down on a chair she pulled out from under the kitchen island.

Seungcheol was surprised by her question but played it off and put the cup of tea in front of her.

"Just you know, stuff." He sat down next to her.

"What kinds of stuff?" She pressured.

"Could you not sleep either?" He ignored her question.

"No," she shortly responded.

"Why not?" He asked

"Same reason as you, a lot on my mind." She eyed her tea.

"Talk to me."

He knew what was on her mind, yet he couldn't help asking.

"Your tea is getting cold." She brushed him off.

"It's still warm. It's 4 a.m., and we both  have a lot on our minds. So talk to me, I'm here to listen."

"Fine, so there's this guy. He proposed to me and I don't know what to do." She gave in.

"This guy, do you like him?" He asked

Their eyes locked onto each other.

"No," she noticed a slight change in his eyebrows. "I love him." She answered.

"So the guy you love proposed to you? Why don't you say yes?" He tried to ignore his heart race.

"I'm scared of the outcome. Nothing is guaranteed. None is guaranteed, so I'm not entirely sure I am willing to take the risk."
