Flashback

"Jiwoo," Mr. Jeon called for little Ms. Jeon.

"Yes, father?"

"There is this guy that we need to catch. He's been lurking around for too long, and as much as I do not wish for you to be involved, it seems like we don't have any other choice." He stood up.

Jiwoo had always been afraid of her father, not because of his status in the house but rather because he was a scary man who could do anything and no one bated an eye.

After all, that's what had happened when he was beating her mother, his wife, to death in front of everyone. Yet nobody did anything. All they did was walk by as if this was the norm.

"What do I have to do?" She was obedient because of fear rather than respect.

"Seduce him. You'll be prepared by professional makeup artists and designers. All I need you to do is seduce him and trick him into dating you. Then, when you have him in your palm, you'll give him to me, and we'll take care of it from then on." He ordered.

"Yes, father. I will go and get ready then."

As her father had ordered, she seduced him, slept with him, and dated him. She had spent almost 6 months with him. Half a year. It wasn't easy for her to give him up to her dad because she knew the ending.

"Baby, what are you thinking about? You seem more anxious these days. What's on your mind? Talk to me."

The guy, Mr. Jeon had wanted and sent Jiwoo to seduce, which was now cuddling her and deep in love.

They both were.

"It's nothing much." She lied and he knew but chose to not pressure her.

"You can always talk to me, I'll always be here to keep you safe." He kissed her cheek and went to sleep.

As she was caressing his arms, she couldn't help but think about a way out of this. A mission is a mission but this was more than just a mission, at least for Jiwoo it was more. And maybe she wasn't professional and cold-hearted enough for this industry but who could ignore and deny love?

"How will I be able to give you up? Or even forget you?" She whispered.

"Don't. You're my first and my last." He mumbled as he stuffed his face into her breast.

"I promise to never ever forget you or ever let you go. You're my first and you'll remain my last." She vowed.

As the past few weeks went by, she got more and more anxious. More interestingly she got pregnant.

"HOW COULD YOU LET HIM ESCAPE?" Her father slapped her down to the floor.

"I told you to give him to me but you let him go?" Her father was dumbfounded by the doing of her daughter. He knew that she knew better.

"Mr. Jeon, we found him." The guards pushed her lover onto the floor and she ran up to him, checking up on him.

In that instance her father knew what was going on.

"So this is why you let him go," he scoffed. "Love is such an absurd thing, I wish for none of this to continue." He loaded a gun.

"Wait, dad, please." She stood infront of her lover.

It was the first time she had called Mr. Jeon 'dad' and not 'father'.

"Get away from him you stupid child. I should have never gotten you involved. You weren't ready." Her father pushed her to the side.

"I'm pregnant with his baby!" She stated, freezing everyone in the room. Her tears started to flow like a waterfall.

"You are what?"

Her father couldn't believe it. It wasn't that he was surprised but rather disappointed and disgusting because this is not how he raised his daughter and maybe it's because he didn't raise her at all. It was all maids.

"I am pregnant with his child and I love this man. Please, father, you have to let him go. He didn't do anything wrong and you know it. All he did was steal some drugs from you." She got on her knees, crying.

Her lover hugged her tight from the back and held her belly.

"No daughter of mine shall feel such! Not for him! Get up at this once and stay aside and you," He pointed the gun at the lovers head.

"You better let go of her now!" He shouted his shoulder, leaving him screaming in agony.

"FATHER!" She threw herself at her father but was pushed away.

Her father shot once, twice, thrice. He didn't stop. The only sounds that were heard were the sobs of Jiwoo and gunshots.

She had all rights to weep. She was mourning the father of her child, her lover.

"This shall be a warning to never do such stupid thing ever again on your own. 'Love'?" He scoffed

"Pathetic" He spat, "take her to the doctor and tell him to get rid of whatever baby that she is carrying." Mr. Jeon ordered and left the room.

Jiwoo was carried away by guards, she knew that she couldn't keep the child. There was no way her father would let her.

As time went by, Jiwoo swore to never ever be with another man ever again. Her father passed away early from cancer and she had taken over the house. Now it was Ms. Jeon instead of Mr. Jeon.

She was happy with the power but at what cost?

And now that Y/n was going through the same thing, she couldn't let her risk it. As much as she wanted to let Y/n go and be with him, her job came first. They were enemies and enemies can never work out.

Deep down. Jiwoo or Ms. Jeon as we know her better as, was still mourning the death of her unborn child and her lover. And perhaps she was scared to let Y/n follow her feelings, because she's been proved wrong herself.

"Ms. Jeon? Are you okay?" Y/n asked as the car parked in front of their mansion.

"Yes, I just need some rest. I have a headache, I'm probably just tired." She tried to reassure.

The truth was, she was sad and suffering. All these years of torment and she couldn't tell anyone, because who could understand her pain?

"Let's get you inside." Y/n helped Ms. Jeon inside the house.

"Y/n," Ms. Jeon stopped in her track before going into her room.

"Truly, thank you for going with this marriage without causing any trouble. I know it's hard for you to let go of him and the feelings." She gave Y/n a smile and left.

Y/n knew of her story and she understood the pain but why Ms. Jeon is forcing Y/n to let go of her feelings is what's infuriating. I mean she went through the same thing, shouldn't she be more understanding and easy-going?

"Unbelievable..." Y/n mumbled as she left to go into her room.
