Valencia has turned into a mad house. Chaos is exploding in every corner you turn. Leviathans appearance has called on other lower level demons to arise out of the Sea of Terror. Air borne demons have felt the energy too and is now landing on the fields of Valencia. Mages with all sorts of magic are doing everything they can in their power to eradicate the monsters. Children and younger students have been pushed into safe houses or the church and are crying out for their parents and older siblings to return safely.
Ethan has tear stains on his face and has caused Valencia to flood in the rain he's conjured with his lighting. Him, his other classmates and warriors on the front end have managed to keep Leviathan in the sea and not any closer to the shore. Aiden has transformed into a mythical flying beast and Ethan is riding on his back. He continues to call on lighting and wield it as a sword to slash and slam against the Prince of Hell. On the ground Lacey is channeling every individuals emotions within her and delivering blast after blast shaving off parts of the serpents body. Cade is speeding up time around their magical attacks to increase the force while maintaining slowed time around the monster.
And their efforts are working. When Ethan and Lacey time up their attacks together, they hit Leviathan at once and cause both their magic to hit each other which creates a huge blasts. Lighting from the sky blinds Ethan and Aiden in the altitude and the force of Lacey's blast create a whirlwind of pressure releasing onto the shore. It's as if the entire state of Valencia is watching the Big Bang as everything in sight turns white and everyone is blinded by illuminating light. Leviathan lets out one last ear shrieking roar before the black sparks arise from his body alerting them that Leviathan has finally been defeated.
Aiden swoops downward and transforms back to himself once Ethan's feet have hit the ground. Lacey is shaking with adrenaline and her knees are buckling at all the energy she's just exerted. Cade is standing there utterly dumbfounded that he's actually found a way to make his abilities useful in battle. The warriors on the shore triumph in victory and call out battle cries. However the demons on the land cut their celebration short as they waste no more time gloating and rush straight back into the fight.
Lacey, Aiden, and Cade all turn towards Ethan who looks as if he's just had a ghost pass through him. Now that the fight between Leviathan is over he feels his heart crush in his chest; and it actually physically hurts that he clenches at his shirt and falls to his knees.
"It's not your fault," Lacey is the one to initiate conversation. Naturally, she's always been the best at reading people's emotions and putting feelings to actions. "None of us saw that coming."
"Yeah, and we'll get her back. Izzy's tough and you know it," Cade adds shoving his hands in his pockets. He would love to stay and console his friend all day long, but he can't help but peer at the overbearing chaos exploding in Valencia. His sister and parents are somewhere out there and he can't help but worry about them as well.
Ethan slams his fist on the sand bruising the side of his hand. He doesn't notice the pain though and continues to punch the ground with both fists now.
"Dude," Aiden starts and goes so far as to crouch down next to him. "Doing this shit isn't gonna bring her back. What'll bring her back is killing these fuckers and then portaling to her."
Ethan doesn't have a problem admitting that Aiden is right. When he looks up at his friends he remembers something Chase told him months ago. The one who I'm really bothered with is Apollo's descendant. He was really infuriating. Sebastian told Chase that when he first appeared to him the night he and Bree went out in Paris. Izabel told them that the very first night she saw him, in the bathroom mirror at Ryder's club, that Sebastian knew who she was. Was this Sebastian's intention all along, to get Izzy out of this war?
