"I have some bad news," Stans voice booms throughout the lecture hall of their daily class.
It's 9:30 in the morning now and each student in here feels like they've been up for days, not just two hours. Within the past two hours, the discovery of the prophecy has turned each their lives around. Everyone from Chase's room is now sitting around each other in the lecture hall, something they haven't done once yet. Everyone is here except Zach and Monica.
From Bree's side she can hear Chase grumble as he anxiously taps his foot and slumps down in his chair. They haven't talked about their kiss this morning, and the way they both cleaned up there's no residue about it. Sitting next to him now it's like she can still feel his hands roaming her body and his arms holding her.
"Monica Whitmore has decided to leave Shoreline. She left a note last night stating so," Stan explains and then holds up a hand written note, even from this distance Bree can see her nearly perfect signature.
For a moment the whole class says silent in shock, a couple of them raising their eyebrows and jaws dropping to the floor. Chase keeps an expressionless face in attempt to hide some feeling of guilt. Thinking back to his conversation with her last night, there was probably something he could've done or said to possibly prevent her departure - but at that moment he really didn't care, nor wanted to believe that she was actually serious. Now he can't help but wonder if he played a part in her leaving, and the more he thinks about it the more stupid he thinks the decision on her part was.
None of the students really say anything, but then again none of them truly loved being around her. But they did accept her unconditionally despite her bitchiness, and they all acknowledge the powerful abilities she did have to contribute to this team. She was apart of their lives for over ten years, and honestly none of them would have pictured this outcome - but at least it's better than death.
Before anymore conversations can happen a loud and obnoxious RING sound alerts throughout the hall. Francis nearly yelps out in agony as he quickly covers his ears. Vampires have heightened sense, and Bree couldn't imagine the discomfort for him if this is bothering her. Followed by the ring, a voice speaks over the intercom and says "this is a mandatory assembly and all students and faculty please report to the colosseum immediately." Bree doesn't recognize the voice, nor has she been to the colosseum, but she follows her peers lead as they file down the stairs, into the hallway then outside.
When they get outside every single person at this academy is walking in the same direction. She never realized just how many people attend this place, especially because she just sees the same people everyday. She's gotten acquainted with the staff working at the food places or shops, and some of the receptionist in other institute buildings and management office. But other than that she's never been to the lower level student headquarters, and judging by some of their much smaller and less matured stature, she can point out the younger adolescents.
The sun is shining bright today and the weather is finally peaking spring time so the air is warm. The plants surrounding the walk ways are beginning to bloom again and small rodents play in the open fields. There's still a light breeze causing her hair to tousle over her shoulders and pull her knit cardigan closer to her body. The air is filled with smells of pollen and coffee, and she can hear murmurs of conversation all around her.
To get to the colosseum, it's only about a 5 or something minute walk. This building is much larger than their class building and library. It's pretty much isolated from the other buildings too and there's two tall oak trees in the front of it. The colosseum is circular shaped and seems to have a convertible roof, and today it's not there. It's golden and reminds her of the ancient battle grounds the greeks used to fight in. When you enter you walk up some stairs that's rusted gold and cracked from their old age. You enter into a large open space with a stage in the middle and multiple rows of seats expanding in either direction. The clear blue sky radiates above, and there's various entry points into the colosseum and she sees students walking in from all of them and rapidly filling the rows of seats. She thinks there's at least 5,000 if not more seats that are available to sit in.
