The next morning comes and I woke up to cold air blowing into the tent doors, my eyes open and settle on nobody else but me in the tent. I get out of the tent and stretch, Lilly's head on Henry's shoulder both of them on a log, Daryl and Carol talking. "We should head out for Hilltop as soon as possible, it's a two hour ride from here as it is." I nod and pour a cup of coffee into a mug and sip it, Lilly reaches her hand out so I pass it to her letting her take a sip. "Okay, let's get packed up and headed there then." Lilly hands the mug back to me, I chug the rest of it and toss the mug to dad. I grab my bag and nod for Lilly to follow me, she stands up and we all head over to the wagons dad on his bike. Henry takes Lilly's bag and helps her up in the wagon then slides her bag in the back, I toss mine in the back and hop up into the front next to Lilly after helping up lucky and spark into the back. "Alright, two hours to Hilltop let's get." The horses head off down the road, dad heads up infront of us dog already way ahead and Carol aside of us.

We get to Hilltop around nine am and we're met with Tara, Jesus, and Aaron outside. I stop the wagon and hop down running over to Tara and hugging her. "Holy shit Max! What brings you guys here?" We pull apart and look back over to Henry helping Lilly down and grabbing her bags along with his. "Wanted to visit, Henry is here for blacksmith training. Carol is dropping him off with Daryl and they're staying for however long that is, plus Lilly and Henry are I'm pretty sure dating, thought I'd let her see him." She nods, dad gets back on his bike and leaving with dog, Aaron and Jesus. "Looking for Eugene, they found Rosita earlier and she said he was missing." I hum and walk over to Lilly and Henry pating Henry on the shoulder taking the bags from him. "Take my wagon drive it forward to that house over there, well all be staying there. I talked to your mother earlier she said it was alright, Daryl is staying with some dude." He nods and gets on the wagon driving it up forward to the house I pointed to. "Thank you, daddy." Lilly hugs me tight smiling like a kid in a candy store, I hug her back and we walk to the house. "You're welcome, princess."

"Hi Carol. Oh, and Max?" I smile at Siddiq as he hugs Carol, he takes the people from earlier, I wave the the two women and walk down the road. I walk around Hilltop for an hour or so before heading back to the gates, Carol and a woman are on her wagon and are heading out the gates. I wave to them and stand next to Henry patting his shoulder. "You'll be fine, kid. As long as you don't mess around with my daughter, then you won't end up dead in a hole." He nods and we walk back to the house where Lilly and Enid are both talking, I run over to them tackling Enid down to the ground in a hug. "Max! Holy shit I missed you! Is Carl here? Or the kids?" I shake my head and help her back up brushing the dirt off her shirt. "Nope, just me it was only supposed to be a weekend trip but I decided to stay, look after this kid and Cecily is here let Lilly socialize with her friends and shit." Henry and likky go inside the house, both if us start laughing. "How is Willow? I feel bad, I asked to still be friends after our break up and we were until she left for Oceanside, lost contact after that." I hum and we walking into the house. "Said she was good when I went over months ago, we talk over the radio but that's it and only that is on weekends."

"Atleast she's alright, how's everyone?" I nod as we enter the livingroom sitting down on the couch. "Everyone's good, I'm going to put lucky down once I get a chance go finding the river again. She's just getting worse, she's deaf and almost fully blind, she is just suffering at this point." Enid pats my shoulder and bends down petting Lucky who licks her hand. "Im going with Henry, he's got work, we will be back for dinner, love you dad." Henry and Lilly exit the house holding hands, me and Enid give eachother a knowing look and burst out in laughter. "Well, I should best be getting back to the infirmary, see you soon Max." She stands up and walks over to the front door, I walk over to it with her and lean in the doorway. "I should probably tell Carl my plans on staying for a few weeks until Henry is done with training." She nods pointing at me yelling back 'you do that Maxie' and running off to the infirmary. I close the door and sit back down on the couch, looking at my satchel. "Might aswell get some work done while I'm here."
