"Do we really have to go back inside?"

"Unfortunately."

Aiden and Bonita stood in front of the hospital just out of view of the waiting room. She leaned against him as he lightly held her waist.

"...are you okay?"

"Hm?" he looked down at her (not very far considering it was only like a two inch height difference) and saw her staring at him quizzically. "Of course!"

"Aiden."

"Seriously I–"

"Querido." She pulled him a bit farther from the hospital again to make sure nobody walked out and saw them. "What's wrong? And if you say 'nothing' I will hit you."

"I– I just... I thought I was never gonna see you again."

They were silent for a moment before she let out a small laugh.

"That's it? Come on querido I literally got bit by one, went through the blood loss, and still stood up to the dumbass loser in there. Hell, you remember when I got hit by a car that time?"

"Yes, I was terrified."

"...yeah that was bad. Anyway my point is I've survived a lot, I'm not going anywhere." she gave him a kiss on the cheek and grinned. "So chin up okay?"

"Yeah..." he smiled back. "You better not."

"Can't get rid of me this easy. Now come on, I think my daddy will come looking for us soon."

As soon as they got back inside Aiden's mom grabbed Bonita and hugged her, thoroughly confusing both her and her son.

"Never do it again." his mother said.

"Uhhh what?"

"You know what I'm referring to." she replied. She pulled away and looked Bonita in the eyes and she noticed the similarities between Aiden and his mom. "And tell him. Before one of us does."

"...Daddy told you, didn't he?"

"That doesn't matter."

"It does to me... but I- I promised my family I wouldn't do it again. I have them to think about. And now I have my friends. I'll tell them... I promise."

"Good."

"What are we talking about?" They jumped when Aiden cut in, his arm now around Bonita's waist again.

"Oh nothing, I was just saying how you would make a cute couple."

"Mom!"

"And I told her what we've been saying the entire time, don't worry, mi caballero."

They spared a glance and his mom nodded before walking back to the other parents.

"Oh shit it's him!" she hid behind Aiden who snickered and watched them talk to her parents.

"Mrs. Cabrera, where is your child?" one of the doctors sighed.

"Oh who knows at this point." Sofía shrugged. "For all I know she could be at the mall at this point, you know, like last time."

"Yes, I remember almost losing my job."

"Why do you need her back?" Leo tilted his head.

"...because she's my patient?? She also needs to stop kicking the attendants. We can bill you for damages to the staff you know."

"You've broken out of the hospital before?"

"Long story, tell ya later."

"Fine by me."
