Alexi - POV

I stand still and quiet as I watch my pack members spar. My eyes followed their every move, seeking inspiration and flaws just as my father taught me.

"Excellent takedown, Lyla," my father Andre, the alpha, praises my older sister as she helps up her opponent. It's to be expected of our next beta. She smiles at me as she walks to us. I watch her cautiously as she has an evil glint in her eyes.

"Don't you dar.... mmmmm," I grunt as she wraps her sweaty arms around me. "OH my baby bro... don't you love meee....." she sings as I finally scury out of her grip and scowl at her. She just smiles as everyone laughs. I roll my eyes, but I eventually grin a bit. I love my family more than anything, but they get on my nerves. As they laugh, I glance at the sun as I realize it's getting late.

"Father, I would like to go next. I have to get ready for the game tonight, so I need to leave soon." I remind him as I wait for his decision. I watch as he frowns.

Sigh.

I know they worry, and I'm sure you're wondering why they would worry since I'm the son of an alpha. Well, in our world, things are a bit different. Your strength and rank are not determined by your parents but by your wolf. Wolves reincarnate and the older the wolf, or more precisely, the closer the wolf to the original werewolf soul, the stronger.

Now, most of the time, this strength is reflected in your appearance: such as hair color is your wolf's coat. White, black and brown are common wolves and omegas, red and silver are usually higher ranking with black markings, pure red or silver is considered rare. Eye glow is your wolfs eye color. Height and build usually represent strength and wolf's size. For example, all of my family are alpha's and beta's. So, technically, I should also be one, but I was born different. While my family all mostly have red, black and silver toned hair, I have pure silver hair verging on platinum. My family are all over six feet tall, and I'm five foot eight. Most of them are well built, and I'm lean and fast.

When I was born, my parents were shocked. They would never get rid of me or anything, but they couldn't understand my appearance. From what I've been told, there was a lot of crying and yelling. I dont even think the pack was allowed to see me, or i had a first appearance, where newborns are presented to the pack. I was gawked at all throughout my childhood due to this. I take a deep breath as my father finally speaks.

"Very well, but remember," my father warns as I turn around and walk into the circle. I remember my childhood well as I look around. While most people smile at me now and accept me, well sort of, they were afraid I would break before I shifted. I pull off my shirt and get into my stance as I wait for a challenger. I smile as someone steps forward.

"I'll kick his ass alpha, don't worry... knock him down a few pegs." Is heard loudly as my best friend Devon grins as me, just as he steps into the circle. He's a beta with reddish brown hair. His wolf's name is Sevin. We circle each other as he shifts and charges me. I crouch down and wait. As he lunges and jumps, I fall back and grab his chest coat. My right foot kicks into his stomach, launching us over where I land on top of him, slamming him into the ground. I hold back as much as I can, but the force is a bit much as he immediately shifts back. I grin down at his annoyed face.

"Asshole." He spits out as I extend my hand. Everyone laughs as I help him up. "I'm going to pin your little ass one day." He whines as we walk back to my father. "I won't hold my breath." I laugh out, which earns me a kick in the butt.

"Well done, Alex." My father praises. I smile, but it immediately drops when I sense an annoying presence. "Yeah, imagine what he could do if he shifted." Says the asshole. Said asshole being Henry, one of the ruling families sons. He lucked out and got an alpha wolf, and it's gone to his head.
