Elijah - POV

I couldn't really grasp what I was seeing. My mind was unable to make sense of the weird scene in front of me. As if I had entered some strange twilight zone.

"How long have they been like that?" I ask quietly. Maintaining my place at the entrance to the living room, keeping my arms crossed over my chest as we all continued watching.

"They were already like that when I got here about 30 minutes ago." Devon responds. A deep frown on his face as he leans against the wall, his foot pressed up behind him. Fully dressed in his suit for the ceremony. Just like the rest of us. "Apparently, they've been like this since their fight."

My eyes narrow as I recall his family telling me about this massive battle between my mate and this Djinn brat. Supposedly, a big chunk of the back valley was destroyed.

"And that made them like this?" I ask. Scoffing as I hold out my hand. Drawing everyone's attention to the large couch that holds two giggling boys. Both are wearing my mates clothes. Whispering and laughing like their at some damn sleepover.

"And why are they all wearing our clothes?" I hiss. Dragging my eyes from the strange boy to the two taller figures standing behind them. Their eyes focused on my mate and the other boy. Sha, I think is what they called him.

"Weird, isn't it. They changed their appearance to look more human." Lyla informed me. Stepping up behind us as she sipped on her drink, brushing her long hair back as she adjusted her dark red dress. "I guess my brother let them use your clothes."

I scoffed as she smiled at me, looking at the couch one last time before walking off to join her mother.

"Whatever." I grumbled. Growing tired of standing here, so I decided to finally enter the room. I'm still shocked that my mate hasn't noticed me. Frowning as he laughs at something the other boy said. Until his nose twitches and his head snaps in my direction. Pulling a grin from my lips as he smiles at me brightly.

"Elijah." He says happily. Reaching his arms out just as I get close enough for a hug. Which I gladly give him as I wrap him up tightly. Sighing in contentment as he buries his face in my neck. Inhaling my scent deeply. "I missed you."

I kiss his cheek as I glance over at the strange boy, surprised by the amused look on his face. His eyes were watching us carefully as I settled myself next to my mate. I'm practically pulling him onto my lap as I tug him away from the other boy. Wrapping my arms around his waist to keep him close. Smiling as he comes easily.

"Elijah, this is Sha." My mate quickly introduces me as we get settled. I nod as he does the same. "Sha, this is my mate."

We both keep a suspicious eye on one another. Our eyes sizing each other up as I rub my scent all over Alex, feeling annoyed for some reason.

"Ah. The human." He chuckles. His words laced with sarcasm as he looked me over, settling back against the ouch as he watched us. "So, you're the reason for all this trouble."

I frown at his harsh words. Even if he dressed them in an amusing tone. I could hear the irritation, but there was something else that I was missing.

"Be nice." My mate demands. Lowering his voice as he wraps an arm around my neck. Letting the silence linger as they stare each other down. Until they both start laughing, catching me off guard.

"Yeah. Yeah." He chuckles. "If it wasn't for him. I would have never met you."

His words are light and airy. His tone sounded almost content, almost friendly to my ears.

"Alright, everyone. It's time to head to the packhouse." The Lunas voice drawing everyone's attention. The room fills with cheerful discussion as people start to gather in the foyer, but I hold onto Alex for a moment as he tries to get up. This catches the attention of the boy.
