Alexi - POV

Got you! Is screamed through the mindlink as two brown wolves pounce on my back. I laugh loudly and growl happily as I start running. I'm shaking my fur to try to get them off. I was so distracted by them that I didn't see the naked boy in the tree as he jumped and landed on my neck.

Xander growls in annoyance as Devon uses his hands to cover Xanders eyes, and the other two get ahold of his legs and bring us down.

"We won!" Screams the naked boy as a cloud of snow from our fall fills the air. Two brown wolves run around my massive wolf body as Xanders lazy ass let's them enjoy their victory and relaxes on his side, giving me complete control.

We've been playing for most of the day. So long the sun set a while ago and the only light in the frigid night our wolves eyes and the distant glow of the cabin across the frozen lake.

"Alex!" A loud scream fills my ear as I immediately hear Devons panicked voice.  I sit up to see something that shouldn't be here. I stand up and place myself in front of my friends as Devon shifts back, growling as he gets into a protective stance in front of Jimmy and Louis. His beta side is coming out.

I glare menacingly at the sight in front of me. Six rogue wolves stand at the edge of the clearing between us and the cabin. I assess them as I heighten my senses. My hearing spreads through the entire forest. I sigh in relief as I realize they are alone. As I open my eyes, I watch the pitiful creatures' pace. They look like their starving and malnourished. I barely sense any consciousness in them. Their animal instincts have almost completely taken over.

Alex. What do we do? They've already seen you. I sigh, realizing the implications of his words. I debate my options.

I'm not fond of slaughtering helpless, starving creatures. Rogues or not. I say bitterly through the link as I step forward. My massive form approaches the apparent leader.

I feel them following me, and I release a loud growl stopping them in their tracks. Go back to the cabin. Now. I state firmly through the link, leaving no room for objection as I create a path for them between the rouges and the cabin. If I can't reason with them, then this is something you do not need to witness.

My voice cracks over the link at the realization that I may need to use deadly force.

Alex. We can.... Devon tries, but I growl again. Now! I command, and without another word, they start trotting off towards the cabin. I watch as the rogues growl and snap. One of them even tries to take a step towards them. But, my patience is wearing thin, so I release an overwhelming roar as the rogees whimper and back up.

I move further between them and my friends until their forms are blocked from their site. I listen as they run to the cabin. As I hear their paws hit the wood deck, I focus back on the rogues. They start to circle me as I approach them. Xander sits quietly in my mind, observing. To him, this is mere training. Improving my skills in using his body and powers.

I understand you are hungry, but this is not the place for you. There is a herd of reindeer several miles to the east. I will allow you passage if you leave now. I tell them over a partial link I establish.

It is a secret I have shared with no one, but Xander can speak to all shifts, regardless of the species. I wait hoping for a response, but all I get are growls and animalistic noises.

They're too far gone pup. Xander states what i feared as I sigh out in frustration. Until I notice them eyeing the cabin. My resolve strengthens at the threat to my friends' safety. The fur on my back raises as I crouch down. End it quickly.
