003: THE DAY THAT WASN'T

༊*·˚

Harper was starting to regret looking for Klaus. His family seemed to have decided she was just a part of the group, now, and she was stuck on the couch as they all arrived for some family meeting, aside from Five and the other sister, Vanya.

Harper was the first to the 'meeting', since she had stuck to Luther after Klaus vanished for something. She kept thinking back to Vietnam. How she and Klaus were thrust into the troops, assumed to be part of them. How they were suddenly fighting a war. How somehow Klaus still always managed to get to bars and dance until he collapsed and Harper had to carry him back.

She was feeling awkward, in this large, expensive house. Small. Like everything was built by and for someone else, and she was going to destroy it all just by being near it.

When Klaus entered the room, he sat down right beside her, sighing.

Luther filled them in. And then Harper in on everything. Their father died, which brought them together. Then, Five appeared through a time portal, with the intent of saving the world from the apocalypse, which he had accidently travelled to and lived in as a child. He had worked at the Commission, the people tasked with keeping events and time travel in order, but he abandoned them to come back and save his family.

They still didn't know who was going to start it. They didn't know how it would happen. They didn't know where Five was. But they knew the apocalypse was to happen in three days time.

"Three days?" Allison, one of the sisters, asked, as she handed everyone coffee, including Harper, who was sitting on the ground beside Klaus, and was very thankful for her thinking of her.

Luther nodded. "That's what Five said."

"The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it." Klaus wiped his eye. "He just left out the part about how soon."

"But can we trust him?" Allison asked, as she leaned against the bar. "I don't know if you've noticed, but Five's a little -" She made a whistle sound.

Klaus chuckled. "Our little psycho."

Luther sighed impatiently. "He was pretty convincing. And if he wasn't trying to stop an apocalypse from happening, those two lunatics wouldn't be chasing him."

"They're trying to stop him?" Harper asked.

"Yeah."

"What'd he see?"

Luther was suddenly quiet. "Uh . . . apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible." He went quiet again, before clicking his tongue and got to his feet. "Okay, so here's the plan-"

Everyone spoke at once, making him stop and turn to them.

"What actually happened the first time around?" Klaus asked.

Harper nodded. "You're not telling us something."

"Come on, big boy," Diego said. "Spit it out."

Luther muttered something, and sipped his coffee.

"What was that?" Allison asked.

"Yeah, louder for Harper, please!" Klaus yelled, making her lean away from him.

Luther cleared his throat and spoke louder. "I said, uh, we died."

They all looked at him in silence.

"Unlucky you." Harper sipped her coffee.

"Um, no." Luther shifted uncomfortably. "You were there, too."
