019: DADDY ISSUES
༊*·
Southland Life.
A tall rise building stood in front of Harper. Allison had said that Ray could look after Aimee, which he was very happy to do, and so Harper arrived with Allison, not hesitating to make her way inside. She wanted to beat the shit out of Reginald Hargreeves.
She made her way inside, up the stairs, and caught the elevator door just before it closed on Diego and Five.
"Hold up." She made her way inside, Allison following, and Klaus suddenly behind her.
"Oh, Harps. Didn't think Daddy would invite you." He put his arm over her shoulders, sighing as Vanya entered the elevator. "It's been a day. Where's your other half?"
Luther entered the elevator as Harper looked at him. "With Ray. I gotta talk to you later. Not now, your siblings are stickybeaking."
Allison cleared her throat, pretending to be looking at the wall as Vanya pretended to be picking her nails.
"Oh, yeah, they do that. Worst kind of cock-blockers."
"Good." Five looked at them. "We're all here."
"This isn't a good idea." Harper said. "You're all better off without him."
"It'll work."
They stood in silence as the elevator rose, Harper ignoring her almost debilitating fear of them, until a foul, sharp stench met her nose.
"Oh, Luther!" Klaus complained, as the others covered their noses.
"Sorry. I'm nervous."
"Let me out!" Harper stomped her foot, as she pulled the collar of her blue dress up to her nose to block the smell. "Oh, god!"
Finally, it came to a stop, and everyone ran out as fast as they could.
"Nasty." Five coughed. "I'm choking."
"You've got to be kidding me!" Allison hurried after him.
The room they were in was a 'Tiki Bar', according to the sign. Set up very similar to a Hollywood vacation movie, with coconuts and palm trees. There was a table set in the centre of the room, eight chairs around it, beachy music playing from nearby, the only lights being a huge one above the set table, and small hanging lamps around the room. Round windows lined one wall, wooden panels lining the rest, with poles separating the sections of tables. But there wasn't a person in sight, aside from a man behind the bar nearby.
"Alright." Five stared, as they made their way to the table. "When Dad gets here, I'll do the talking, alright?"
Diego looked at him. "I've got a few questions for him myself."
"Hey, we don't want to scare him off, alright? He might be able to help us stop Doomsday, get us home."
"No, Five, we need to figure out why he's trying to kill the president!"
"This is a matter of life or death, you imbecile!"
"Okay, yeah." Vanya spoke up, as everyone started taking off their cardigans or coats. "Maybe we should take it turns talking. Yeah? here - whoever has got this conch shell, gets to talk."
"Vanya, we don't have time for a debate, okay?"
Allison walked over, taking the shell from Vanya. "Maybe I should lead. We all know I'm a better public speaker than the rest."
"Klaus, can you grab me something, please?" Harper called over to Klaus, who was already by the bar. "I need to be drunk to get through this shit."
"Already ahead of you." He said, as she walked over to lean against the bar beside him. "Starting to understand me more?"
